When you have looked into the faces, and experienced the humanity of the American Soldier as I have, you realize just what it is to ask them to lay their life on the line and the need to justify this ask as an honest broker. Life is a precious and valuable thing. What then is it to ask another to die on your behalf? What causes justifies this transaction between the asker and those that answer? The preservation of a way of life, the American way of life as it has been understood for 250 years. The genius of the American Constitution that has to the best of its ability, thwarted the overreach of parasitic politicians is the foundation of the contract between the American public and the American Service Member. This Iran conflict is devoid of this sacred merit by all metrics. Hegseth is a disgusting and incompetent creature. Trump is a scam and egotistical child. Gonna be honest with you chat, Ugly crying about some of the Soldiers that didnt come back this year. Theres a part in military balls where you toast the Soldier who didnt make it home. For most of my career this existed as some abstract idea of loss to me. While there was the reverence it didnt have a personal meaning. Now I know two that get toasted every time there is a military ball and it fucking hurts man. I wish I could justify their sacrifice in my head but I can't. I cant and it fucking hurts. One had a beautiful family where dad is never coming back and the other had a beautiful life ahead of him.
