I’m still smiling thinking about what we experienced yesterday at Edo Twitter Izoko Hangout 2.0. ❤️❤️ Honestly, I’m happy and grateful. Seeing people come together, genuinely happy, dancing, laughing, meeting new people, networking and just enjoying themselves made everything worth it. I watched people listen attentively as others spoke about their businesses, ask questions and show genuine interest in what others were doing. I watched people dance to music from cultures different from theirs, admire each other’s traditional outfits, and try foods and snacks they had never tasted before. And they loved it! We had people representing Edo, Esan, Owan and Etsako cultures, and seeing everyone embrace the music, food, dressing and traditions was beautiful to witness. This is exactly what I hoped for when we started Edo Twitter Izoko Hangout. A place where we can connect beyond the timeline, celebrate our culture, discover one another, support each other’s businesses and simply have a good time together. And yesterday, I saw all of that happen right before my eyes. ❤️ But I must say this: I did not do this alone. WE DID IT TOGETHER. To everyone on X who supported the idea, contributed their time, energy, resources and ideas, helped with planning, reached out to people and did everything they could to make this happen, I appreciate you all. You know yourselves, and I do not take your support for granted. This success belongs to all of us.
