Dead at 34. She blazed a trail across the tracks & into our hearts. The athletics world will be stunned by the speed of her demise from cancer. As we all were by Ciara’s speed & courage.A European champion who made everyone in Ireland proud. From the North, she belonged to us all.
“Nothing made Ciara prouder than pulling on her Ireland vest. But as a proud Portaferry woman, she wasn’t just a champion on the track. She was a champion of others who showed us all how to live. A privilege to have had her on the Late Late Show.”

Tony Dungy says that he's pretty sure that NBC fired him because he's pro life.
Tony and his wife, both devout Christians who have 11 children, says that NBC knew who he was when they hired him.
He was a speaker at the March for Life in 2023 which NBC was unhappy about.
He and his wife run the Dungy Family Foundation which has worked with pregnancy centers.
Honorable man.

An historic photograph -
On February 10, 1992, 79 year old Ben Hogan and 80 year old Byron Nelson met at Colonial Country Club for the final time. This was also the first time in 40 years they'd been photographed together.
David Woo of the Dallas Morning News was the photographer and as they left the photoshoot he took this spontaneous photo of Ben assisting Byron by taking his arm.

After Ike Turner left, the music industry practically abandoned Tina Turner.
She was a Black woman in her forties, and many thought her time was over, seeing her stuck in the old hits circuit.
But everything changed one night in January 1983 in New York. David Bowie was having dinner with his new record label before the release of his album Let's Dance . However, he announced that he already had plans for the evening: he was going to see Tina Turner in concert, and nothing would stop him. He insisted that everyone come with him.
Tina's manager, Roger Davies, received a surprise call requesting 63 places on the guest list. Tina later described this moment as her "Cinderella moment" in her book. That night, she said, was like a ball—but without Prince Charming—because it changed her life forever.
After the concert, Tina spent the night partying with Bowie, Keith Richards, and Ron Wood. They gathered around a hotel piano, singing Motown songs and drinking champagne. They even took a now-famous photo of themselves all drinking from the same bottle of Jack Daniels.
That night, Tina became a rock star, and her incredible rise was only just beginning.

Often times golf tournaments transcend the sport, and Sunday at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship was just another example.
Austin Hitt won his first KFT title and earned his first PGA Tour card along with it, achieving a lifelong dream that he's had for much of his 28 years. Hitt starred alongside Ben Griffin and Ryan Gerard in college, but since turning pro in 2021 has often found himself answering questions about those guys. He has been more recently known as Gerard's roommate.
And yet this week outside of Richmond, Virginia, everything changed.
Hitt already knew it was going to be an emotional week, regardless of the outcome. His late father, Chip, who passed away at age 65 in February 2024 after a six-year cancer battle, had played college golf at Roanoke College in his native Salem, Virginia, about three hours from The Federal Club. Hitt then found his swing after last week's missed cut and ended up shooting 20 under, including a final-round 66 in wet conditions, and winning by two shots.
Making the victory even more emotional, Hitt's mother, Jennifer, flew in on Saturday and watched her son's last couple dozen holes, hiding and not surprising Austin until he holed his final putt on the 18th green.
Hitt and his mom shared a long hug, and then he was asked about the one person he was thinking of in the moment.
"My dad," Hitt said. "Yeah, I wish he could be here."

Well, that backfired.
Jessica Tarlov really thought she could convince Bill Maher Democrats are less crazy than Republicans.
Maher thought she was kidding. "Oh, you're being sarcastic."
His reaction was priceless when he realized she wasn't.
Remember, Democrats are the party of open borders, communist candidates, Islamist apologists, and men in women's sports.
When you've lost Bill Maher on this, you know you've lost America.
If Democrats win the midterms, it will be because of the war and the economy.
"Less crazy" will have nothing to do with it.
