X - I need your urgent help.
My new film 5 SOLDIERS is due to screen at Hereford Military Festival at The Courtyard on Sunday 27 September.
It has been on sale since 7 May.
I have just been told it has sold ZERO tickets.
Zero.
This is a film about soldiers’ bodies, training, injury, courage, fear, comradeship, trauma, recovery and service. It was made after years of working with soldiers, veterans and military families. It is not party political. It is humane, serious and, I believe, necessary.
If we cannot sell tickets, the screening may not go ahead.
So I am asking directly: please help me save this screening.
Buy a ticket. Bring someone. Share this. Tag anyone in Hereford, the Armed Forces, veterans’ networks, military history circles, dance, film, culture or anyone who believes that art about soldiers still matters.
Zero tickets is not normal.
Let’s change that.
Hereford, Sunday 27 September, 2.30pm.

Just remembered that when Musk took over Twitter a bunch of right-wingers insisted he would clamp down on images of children sexual abuse?
Anyway, the US government is now threatening to sanction the UK if it doesn't support Mr Musk's child porn making machine.
If Starmer is successful in banning @X in Britain, I will move forward with legislation that is currently being drafted to sanction not only Starmer, but Britain as a whole. This would mirror actions previously taken by the United States in response to foreign governments restricting the platform, including the dispute with Brazil in 2024–2025, which resulted in tariffs, visa revocations, and sanctions and consequences tied to free speech concerns against Brazilian officials over concerns related to censorship and free-speech violations.
Starmer should reconsider this course of action, or there will be consequences.
There are always technical bugs during the early phases of new technology, especially AI, and those issues are typically addressed quickly. X treats these matters seriously and acts promptly. Let’s be clear: this is not about technical compliance. This is a political war against @elonmusk and free speech—nothing more.
Watching #PeterHujarsDay is such a fascinating oddity. Restaging an interview from the early 1970's verbatim sounds dull (and in moments it is) but it's the choice(s) that make it worth the watch.

Venezuela’s Maduro is a corrupt, vicious dictator repressing democratic opposition . But the US unilaterally capturing a foreign leader not at war breaches every canon of intl law. Justifies Putin in Ukraine/Xi in Taiwan. Might is right. Who next on what pretext? A dark moment.
With 2025 non firmly in the rear view mirror, I can look back at the 99 movies I saw (cinema or streaming release). The breadth of subject matter and quality of filmmaking was excellent and whilst I may not have caught a masterpiece there's a lot to recommend:
#TopFilms2025 No. 2 #YoungMothers It's easy to overlook the Dardenne brothers. They make a lot of films, they always get selected for Cannes, the over the shoulder film-making style embeds you with the characters. It's deeply humanistic cinema with a superb young cast.

Vagaries of international release saw this opening on 3 January 2025 in the UK. A cinematic masterpiece. Colson Whitehead's reform school plot is already devastating but director RaMell Ross makes astounding choices. Unmissable.
