Last Friday I caught @rorysutherland's talk "Why you have to believe in magic" at @Fal_AMATA. A brilliant and funny presentation about how humans post-rationalise and the importance of "climbing mount silly" to make creative leaps. The event was sponsored by ‘BE good’, Falmouth.

In his lifetime, Eric Carle wrote and illustrated more than 70 children's books. He didn't get started until he was 40. Growing up in WW2, he felt the world was too gloomy — so he used bright colors to cheer kids up. He gave us the Very Hungry Caterpillar and much more. RIP.
