“GEO is a distraction,” says Marie Haynes: AI assistants send 0.73% of the traffic Google organic search sends.
Travel already knows the answer. A DMO rarely sells the trip. Its job is to put a place on the shortlist, long before the booking.
No click. Still on the shortlist.

In our benchmark of 900 official destination websites, the average AI Readiness score is 30/100. Fewer than 1 in 10 meets the AI-Ready threshold.
Check yours: readiness.globetrotters.ai/?…
Three questions matter more than AI referral traffic:
1. Readiness: can AI read your official information?
2. Visibility: do you appear, and is it accurate?
3. Impact: off-season stays, visits beyond the hotspots, local partners.

We are making Markdown files work natively across Google Drive and Docs.
You can now preview .md files in Drive, open them in Docs, edit them, comment on them, and collaborate without converting the file into a Google Doc!

I think most software products are about to get way too unfortunately messed-up complicated. Think Workday, but worse?
I’ve spent the last month reworking the entire UX of our app, and most of that work has been removing things, combining things, collapsing flows, and taking features we worked hard to build and making them disappear into something simpler.
I've noticed our product starts to split into two very different experiences. For the agent part of your product, the product is incredibly rich: context, tools, actions, memory, workflows, everything it needs to actually do the work.
For the human, there's still a product but the surface area gets much smaller. Chat when you want to ask or direct something. Contextual controls when you’re already looking at the thing. And then a small, fun surface you can actually explore, understand what’s happening, intervene, and hang out in. Sometimes just enjoy watching the agent work.
You have to resist the "chat is my app". Our product UX is now some new thing in the middle: a very deep machine experience underneath, with a very deliberate human experience on top. Man it's fascinating.
The feeling I've been trying to chase is that of a thousand agents underneath with one mind on the surface.
Who's nailed this the most that I can learn from?

That DHH saying out loud that the age of writing code by hand is over for the industry, and causing such a huge uproar is a bit interesting, given this was clear enough since ~January for most of us using the models + paying attention.

Lazy work used to mean too little output.
Now, with AI, it often means too much and more work for everyone else.
@tobi call it "slop grenades."
A "Slop Grenade" is when you let AI produce the work and pass it on without adding any value (including checking it).
Someone else has to wade through it, catch the mistakes, and clean up the mess.
You save time and look productive but someone else pays for it.

AI returns recommendations.
That’s a much bigger shift than it sounds.
The company an AI recommends gets the customer.
I think we’re entering a new era: after websites and social media comes AI Presence.

As engineering, product, design, DS, etc. melt into a new kind of role, I was reflecting on what roles might look like in the future. For example, when I look at the Claude Code team I see what I think is five archetypes:
1. Prototyper: comes up with brand new ideas; churns out many ideas, most of which don't ship
2. Builder: quickly turns a prototype/idea into production-grade product/infra
3. Sweeper: cleans up the UI, simplifies the code and system, unships, optimizes performance
4. Grower: takes a product that has been built and iterates on it to improve Product-Market Fit
5. Maintainer: owns a mature system to make it secure, reliable, fast, and efficient as it scales
Many people span across 2 roles, and sometimes 3 roles. I also notice that these roles are not really tied to job function -- eg. across Anthropic, some designers match category 1, some 2, some 3; same for engineers, PM, DS.
A healthy team needs a mix of these, depending on the product:
- A product that is new and pre-PMF needs people that are strong at 1+2+3
- A product that is growing and has found PMF needs 2+3+4 and some 5
- A product that has strong PMF needs 3+4+5 and some 2
Maybe product roles of the future will look more like this, and less like the domain-specific roles of today?
