From tomorrow it is legal to cut hedges as the bird nesting season is over for another year. But hedges are full of berries, bees and other insects are flying and there are still some flowers, birds are fattening up for winter, wildlife needs this bounty so cutting should wait

This is my MP @JHowellUK. Despite the beautiful river Thames running right through his constituency of Henley, he voted to allow water companies to dump raw sewage into rivers & the sea.
I think that’s disgraceful & won’t forget at the general election. #EndSewagePollution

Hope you'll attend debate allowing use of bee-killing pesticides in England, on Feb 2, @JHowellUK? Im sure you agree with experts and @WildlifeTrusts that this decision must be reversed. The whole of life on earth depends on bees - please do the right thing❌🐝☠️ #NoMoreNeonics

How sad on this October day
To see our hedges shorn away
Small creatures would have liked to eat,
The hawthorn berries, rose hips sweet,
Blackberries and nuts and sloes,
But through the blades the banquet goes
Won’t somebody heed our words,
And leave the berries for the birds.
