CPI YoY (%)
This is the inflation rate (the speed of price changes compared to last year).
Useful for identifying regimes (inflation accelerating/slowing), shocks, and macro timing.
CPI “index” (level)
This is the price level (e.g., 2015=100). It is cumulative and almost always rising.
Used to measure purchasing power over time: to compute real BTC, you deflate with the index.

La plupart des projets DeFi reposent sur des oracles (systèmes qui donnent le prix d’un actif). Mais les oracles classiques sont soit centralisés (faciles à censurer), soit pseudo-décentralisés (multisigs vulnérables).
Ce problème (“oracle problem”) a détruit la majorité des protocoles DeFi.
Sur Bitcoin L1, il existe déjà des signaux de prix cachés dans les transactions réelles :
Signal explicite : les échanges tokens <--> sats inscrits on-chain.
Signal implicite : les comportements humains (UTXOs qui se regroupent autour de prix psychologiques comme 5$, 20$, 100$).
En combinant ces signaux, ils obtiennent une formule d’oracle souverain qui n’a besoin :
ni d’API,
ni de serveurs externes,
ni de multisigs.
On débloque un écosystème complet : stables, lending, dérivés… directement on-chain, trustless, souverain.

Applications pratiques
Bitcoin-native stables
Collatéral mesuré directement on-chain → plus besoin d’oracle central.
Ex : 1 stable = 1 USD basé sur ce calcul souverain.
Lending
Liquidations déclenchées automatiquement par la formule de prix.
Pas de manipulation possible par un cartel d’oracle.
Dérivés
Futures, options, swaps → settlement basé sur un prix incorruptible.
Cela va bien au-delà de la “DeFi Bitcoin” classique → c’est de la finance universelle sur Bitcoin.
Le “problème oracle” a toujours forcé les projets à choisir entre centralisation et fragilité.
Cette approche Bitcoin L1 propose une troisième voie :
- exploiter les transactions réelles (explicites),
- analyser les patterns psychologiques des humains (implicites),
-et combiner les deux pour calculer un prix USD.
Ce n’est plus une “opinion” donnée par une API, mais un calcul vérifiable.
Cela ouvre la voie à des protocoles souverains, trustless, et réellement Bitcoin-native.
