And this is precisely why Elon Musk’s role is so consequential. When Elon acquired Twitter, he didn’t merely purchase another social media company. He challenged one of the most influential platforms through which political narratives were shaped, amplified, and contested. And he did it at enormous personal and financial risk. His involvement in politics represents something the left has long understood: political victories mean very little if your opponents continue to dominate the institutions that shape public opinion.
Antonio Gramsci understood something a century ago that much of the modern right took far too long to recognize. Winning elections is not the same as controlling the direction of a civilization. The left understood this distinction and spent decades consolidating its influence over the institutions responsible for shaping public opinion. Universities. Newsrooms. Hollywood. Cultural organizations. Professional associations. Even the institutions entrusted with interpreting and enforcing the law. Not necessarily through some grand centralized conspiracy, but through ideological conformity, institutional incentives, and generations of people promoting the same worldview. Eventually, their political assumptions became so deeply embedded that they were treated not as opinions, but as common sense. And that is why Trump’s electoral victory did not suddenly end the resistance to his presidency. He won the White House. He won the popular vote. Republicans won Congress. Yet the left’s influence extends far beyond elected office. A president can replace his cabinet. He cannot simply undo decades of ideological influence embedded throughout the institutions that shape how millions of Americans think.

The tragedy of communism is that a nation can surrender its freedom democratically, only to discover that reclaiming it is no longer a democratic option.
Every time I rang the alarm bells on the DSA, Democrats would respond with, "Oh, they're fringe. They don't represent the party." Well, THEY DO NOW. Mainstream Democrats are actively backing their agenda. When Eric Swalwell goes on television promising "accountability" for private businesses, law firms, and universities that cooperated with the opposition, he’s issuing a direct warning: Comply with us, or face the consequences. And if you think this will stop at universities or corporate boardrooms, it won’t. This never stops at the top. It eventually comes for you. Look, our Republic isn't perfect, and we have a mountain of work to do. But if you want to preserve the Constitution and save this country, you can't sit out these midterms. You have to vote, and the choice has never been clearer.

people are underestimating how dangerous google can become once they start moving fast. deepmind has some of the most brilliant researchers in the world, practically unlimited resources, and the infrastructure to back it all up. they’re not exactly some underdog trying to figure things out.

i wouldn’t underestimate google though. they have pretty much everything they need to go head-to-head with openai and anthropic. the compute, the talent, the money, and one of the best research teams in the world. if they can get their execution and release cadence right, i don’t think it’ll take them very long to catch up.
google is still playing catch-up. carbon looks incredible, but openai and anthropic have already moved well beyond what we’re seeing publicly. give it another week or two and we’ll find out.

i’m happy google finally shipped something that can challenge opus 5.5. but i can’t stop thinking about what openai and anthropic must have cooking behind the scenes right now. the next round is going to be brutal.

google knew exactly what it was doing with carbon’s release timing. get the crown now, before openai and anthropic bring out whatever absolute monsters they’ve been working on. smart move, honestly.

openai had a whole month to respond to opus 5.5 and google just walked in and stole the show

so we spent an entire month waiting for openai to dethrone opus 5.5. and google just did it instead. LMFAO.
WHAT THE FUCK GOOGLE two weeks after argon and they just casually drop carbon, which apparently takes the intelligence crown. google is so back

wake up babe, opus 5.5 has been dethroned. not by openai. by fucking google
I did say we'd be releasing our models periodically...introducing Gemini 4 Carbon, our next frontier model. Following Argon's release just two weeks ago, Carbon shows the pace at which we’re pushing the frontier, it ranks #1 on the recently updated v5.0 of @ArtificialAnlys Intelligence Index at 59. It also leads across key cybersecurity evaluations scoring 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro for finding vulnerabilities, 54.8% on ExploitGym for exploitation, and 71.0% on CWE-bench for patching. We’re seeing significant improvements in long-horizon tasks even compared to Argon, and we’ve strengthened frontier safeguards. As we did with Argon, we’re going to roll it out gradually + responsibly. Some trusted cyber defenders will get access starting this week. We'll be expanding it to more partners through our Fairwind Program, ahead of wider availability soon, so hang tight!

i did not expect google to be the one to dethrone opus 5.5. not this soon, anyway. and definitely not just two weeks after argon. this changes the conversation completely.

holy fucking shit, google. gemini 4 carbon just landed at #1 on artificial analysis with a score of 59, ahead of opus 5.5 and gpt-6 astra. did not see this coming at all.

how does openai have that much money, talent, and compute and still manage to get its ass kicked this hard??? this level of fumbling needs to be studied.

this is beyond insane. how are people not losing their minds over this???
Over the past few months, Anthropic scientists have engaged in deep research partnerships with six organizations developing new medicines. We've also begun drug discovery efforts of our own. In doing so, we’ve learned much more about how Claude can support the many stages of drug development. In this blog post, we share some early results from these efforts, and describe how this work fits in with our wider ambitions in the life sciences. anthropic.com/research/early…

In 2026, this is how women are treated for peacefully standing up for their rights. There was no way I was going to leave that stadium of my own free will. We did nothing wrong.

Elon Musk is building rockets, satellites, electric vehicles, and the future of American industry. An entire political party is obsessed with bringing him down. What a fucking embarrassment.

They preach tolerance, diversity, and inclusion until someone shows up with an opinion they don’t approve of. Then security gets involved. This is the kind of authoritarian bullshit Americans should be rejecting.

A woman peacefully expresses an opinion at a sporting event and ends up being physically escorted out. In the United States of America. What the actual FUCK are we doing?

The political establishment has spent decades operating with the assumption that anyone wealthy or influential enough to threaten its power can eventually be brought into line. Then Elon Musk came along. A man with enormous resources, a massive platform, and absolutely no interest in quietly accepting the establishment’s version of reality. No wonder they fucking hate him.
