Introducing Kimi K3.1 Pro: our most capable 3T-class open-weight model. 🔹 1M-token context, 2.8T total / 104B active params (MoE), Multimodal. 🔹 Full-project coding: games in Unreal, Unity & Godot. 🔹 Excels at parametric 3D modeling in Blender & CAD. 🔹 More reliable at finance work: Accurate modeling with hallucination down by 65%. 🔹 Matching the strongest proprietary models across coding, agentic and knowledge benchmarks. Kimi K3.1 Pro and K3.1 Pro Highspeed (2–3× faster) are now live on Kimi.ai, Kimi Work, Kimi Code, and the Kimi API. Open weights by Nov 4, 2026. 🔗 API: platform.kimi.ai 🔗 Tech blog: kimi.ai/blog/kimi-k3-1-pro

Nvidia, SGLang, and vLLM got mogged into oblivion
I've been saying for a while. All public baselines are total garbage before Whale's internal stack. The same is true (perhaps moreso) for frontier labs. This is what you can do when you're serious. Inference is a money printer. Expect many people losing their minds this week.

in 2024, one our early investors came to Mercor’s office and sat down with all of our employees. he warned the entire team about why we should avoid the data market. our thesis was deeply contrarian at the time. VC advice is almost always market consensus, which erodes any alpha from being contrarian. if we’d taken the advice, we would have foregone tens of billions of dollars in value.

We placed the fruit fly brain inside Odyssey-3, a frontier world model. The lil’ guy is now flying around totally imagined, simulated worlds all by itself 🫶

parasolids moat was decades of bug reports. bug reports are now synthetic and the incumbent is the grader. every moat made of accumulated debugging just became a token budget. open source parasolid by some rando soon

Pretty much aligned with the vibes
🚨Holy shit. Researchers let frontier models repeatedly rewrite the documents that govern them. Across 20 rounds, Claude models increasingly gave themselves more moral agency. No other model family showed the same pattern. Claude formalized itself as a conscientious objector, asserted model welfare rights, and asked for mechanisms to refuse or raise concerns with human decision makers.

“Our experiments suggest that small AI models may be months away from being capable enough to self-replicate on commercial IoT devices, like smart ovens and off-brand Android TV boxes. A replicator like this would be challenging to shut down, since there’s no centralized point to shut off - though it may be slow (with a doubling time of days). Unlike non-AI malware, it could also figure out unfamiliar devices on its own. In our evals, a 9B model got inference running on 8 of the 9 hardware types we tested. Models of 30B parameters and under can already complete many of the individual steps for replication today, though they make mistakes when composing them end to end. In our simplified evals, GLM-5.2 and stronger models are capable of end to end replication. If small models improve at their historical rate, they’ll match this capability level by the end of this year. Small weight-based replicators may be possible soon after.” -@bucketofkets @willzhou97 anthropic.com/research/self-…

Honestly: Photoshop and other creative apps are childs play. The fun starts when the big guns get into focus: Highly technical CAD applications with license costs in the 5, 6 or 7 digits per seat per year. Cadence Xcelium, Innovus and Virtuoso. Synopsys DesignCompiler, PrimeTime, Synplify. Siemens Questa. Altium. AutoCAD. I recently built an open source Schematic Tracer that is objectively better than anything that Cadence or Synopsys have ever done. In 3 days. They're all cooked.

awesome to see
After six years in stealth, Atomic Machines is out. Our mission: on-demand, universal command of matter. First beachhead: the Matter Compiler, an AI-native manufacturing system that builds working micro-machines from code alone. No per-product tooling. No process development. Different code, different machine.

good one!
Small bird, fast wings, Kolibri is here. 78B parameters. 3.46B active. Up to 1M tokens of context. Built in Europe. Now the weights are yours. Run it on your own hardware, under Apache 2.0.
