Interesting quote in a recent interview from Jakirović about Bašić, who he says he wanted to bring to Hull City after the Italy playoff final: "You have a situation where Tottenham pay 100 million for Tonali, then I go to Zenica to watch Italy against BiH, where my Ivan Bašić from Zrinjski outplayed him. And then you ask yourself, why not bring Bašić here (to Hull)? But then from the other side you have the problem others will tell you - 'but Bašić has never consistently played at this level'. He didn't, but he hasn't had a chance, just like I didn't, and everyone laughed at me when I arrived to England." Bašić's deal is up with Astana in December. Another good NT window in November and maybe we'll see a move like this for him on the cards in January.
