If you need a calendar for 2024 why not get one filled with birds? 😄 (Also January starts with waxwings which seems very appropriate at the moment!)

Somewhere, very near you, is a tiny being, just going about their day. They don’t care about you, or me, nor any of our worries. And I find so much comfort in that 💚🐌

We had three fabulous columnists, Laura Wade, Hep Cairnswood @birdering and Jasmine Qureshi @GoWildForBees - three very different styles of writing, but lovely thought pieces 🧵2/

1/3 I'm lost for words. It seems incomprehensible to destroy habitat in a public park for a ticketed event. @LeedsCC_News are closing 1/3 of Roundhay Park for a winter light event and have destroyed habitat that held breeding Birds, Butterflies, Bees, Mammals and insects.

Hen Harrier from Swilly this morning! With @meganburkinshaw and @birdering We cut it fine though as not long after we arrived it came into view and then circled a bit before flying very high and then straight north. #156 for Swilly this year. @SwillyIngsBG

With the temperature set to soar across the UK we are asking you all to offer some shallow bowls of water for hedgehogs and other wildlife - pop in a few pebbles to ensure insects can escape. Please share! 🎥 Paul Bunyard
