RESULT: Amy Acton will be the next governor of Ohio. She defeats Vivek Ramaswamy—the first governor win for Democrats in Ohio since 2006. Democrats have broken the GOP trifecta in Ohio.

This is beyond irresponsible. The ask isn’t revenge. It’s accountability. The people who hurt our constituents need to be held accountable.
Hakeem Jeffries on Morning Joe: The American people don't want us to get even. They want us to get things done on their behalf because life is way too expensive. We ran on affordability, we won on affordability, and now it's our job to govern on affordability.

The first ripple of the blue wave started right here in the streets of Minneapolis.
Been thinking about this moment a lot tonight In retrospect, feels like a gigantic turning point in all of this. Felt like it at the time to some extent too

This is what all the State Legislatures are looking like. Dems now have the power to pass the National Voter Compact to effectively abolish the Electoral College.

In its first tweet in 24 hours, AIPAC congratulates Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries
AIPAC congratulates the hundreds of pro-Israel Democrats and Republicans who won their elections last night. More than 234 candidates supported by AIPAC members have already won, with many additional races still too close to call. We congratulate Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries on the resounding victories for their caucuses. AIPAC members are determined to expand their political activism in the cycles ahead. Our community will increase its support for Democrats and Republicans who recognize that a strong partnership with Israel helps keep both countries secure, advances peace and stability, promotes democratic values, and grows our economy through trade and innovation.

Every single county in Ohio increased their share of Dem votes - by an average of 19 pts - from 2024. And Ohio flipped key seats of state power: Governor, Lt. Governor, AG, Sec of State. So much to repair after 20+ yrs of GOP control, but feeling hopeful for my home state... 💙

Here’s the thing, Nancy. Last night wasn’t just the American people defeating Republicans. It was the American people rejecting the establishment, spineless, corporate wing of the Democratic Party. Makes no sense to maintain the leadership of that wing.
Speaker Hakeem Jeffries.

Comparing candidates on electoral swings shows the opposite: progressive candidates vastly underperformed the moderate ("establishment") ones. Without the large shift seen in the national electoral environment, they likely would have lost. x.com/micah_erfan/st…

This changes everything. Amy Acton will be able to veto (reject) bills, and Democrats will have enough votes to keep her vetoes in place Republican bills won't become law without Dem support Ohio Rs will be forced to work with Ds for the first time in 16 years

Gimme three months and his golf buddies in Florida wouldn’t even vote for him. I’ll smoke him by 7. Bet on it.

Breaking up Skydance Corporation should be at the top of the agenda for Senate Dems. That plan needed to be foiled 100 days ago.

When it was proposed as a law, a robust pro-voter coalition fiercely opposed & fought to stop the strictest voter ID law in the country. When it came time to fight against it being enshrined into our state constitution, they went completely silent. Utter political malpractice.
The sheep in Ohio voted to get more restrictions on voting today… Ohio already had one of the most restrictive voter ID laws in the country. Y’all are boot licking losers if you voted yes on 3

OH Dems didn’t invest in Blackwell so we’re stuck with Frank Larose for 4 years. There’s a lot of blame to go around.
With 100% of precincts reporting, Democrat @JohnKulewicz finishes 28,407 votes ahead of Republican @KeithFaber in the AG's race. That leaves Auditor-elect @FrankLaRose as the lone statewide Republican to win last night.

This one really got me. ❤️😭 EL-SAYED: “to all the parents who struggled to explain to their kids why the president openly mocks someone for their name or how they pray, let them know tomorrow that the bad guys lost.”
