Can inexperienced cattle producer build a genomically balanced herd in just a few generations?
That’s the question I’m working to answer through my own herd and why I’m building COWBOAI.com.
I’m a new cattle producer with a clear picture of what I want to produce: cattle with balanced genetics, excellent phenotype, strong calving ease, useful growth, maternal ability, and carcass quality.
Our bull calf, TMG Discipline 96 (AAA *21582764), was located and purchased with a clear understanding of exactly what we’re breeding for. He’s a deliberately selected sire, for the herd we’re building. At just 7 months old, he already meets or exceeds the breed midpoint in 11 of the 12 traits in COWBOAI’s Core profile, with Fat sitting just below average. 96 combines strong calving ease with growth, maternal potential, and favorable carcass genetics. In the pasture, we’re seeing excellent phenotype, good feet, and a gentle disposition. I can scratch his head while he eats from my hand.
96’s +0.99 Marbling and +72 $G also exceed the Certified Angus Beef® Targeting the Brand™ genetic benchmarks of +0.65 Marbling and +55 $G. That matters because I’m selecting for balance while keeping beef quality firmly in the picture.
COWBOAI’s Core 12 evaluates:
• Calving Ease Direct
• Birth Weight
• Weaning Weight
• Yearling Weight
• Calving Ease Maternal
• Heifer Pregnancy
• Functional Longevity / Stayability
• Maternal Milk
• Carcass Weight
• Marbling
• Ribeye Area
• Fat Thickness

COWBOAI brings available Black Angus and Red Angus EPDs and commercial Igenity genomic results into an understandable 1–10 framework, accounting for differences in trait definitions and reporting systems. Missing information stays unknown. That helps me understand an animal’s strengths, identify the gaps, and evaluate how it fits the cattle I already own or females I’m considering buying.
Before I purchase a female, I can evaluate her potential mating with 96. Before breeding, I can target a projected calf that meets all 12 Core thresholds. Using animals I’ve already identified, my plan is to make the next two to three carefully selected matings count toward that balanced foundation.
The opportunity for a new producer is significant. I can begin with information that earlier generations of cattlemen didn’t have, identify complementary genetics sooner, and make breeding decisions with a clearer understanding of the likely outcome.
Experience still matters. So do feet, legs, disposition, udders, fertility, efficiency, and suitability for the ranch. Physical examinations and additional EPDs belong alongside the Core 12. Balance means understanding the job each animal needs to do. More milk, more growth, or a bigger carcass isn’t automatically better for every operation.
A 12/12 profile means an animal meets our 12 defined thresholds. It doesn’t mean perfection. Projected calves still need to be born, tested, evaluated, and proven. Targeting the Brand genetics indicate carcass potential; finished cattle still have to earn CAB acceptance.
Because of my frustrations since entering the cattle market, I’m building a patent pending Ai system that help me move toward a genomically balanced herd with the phenotype to match and developing it to help other producers make those same qualified decisions.

Take an exclusive first look at COWBOAI, a patent-pending platform powered by TraitSearch technology designed to optimize cattle breeding. This walkthrough demonstrates how commercial and registered cattlemen can use the Cai AI assistant to analyze cattle genetics and make data-driven mating decisions before ever stepping foot in an auction.
In this demo, we explore how to optimize breedings for specific outcomes, such as finding the best female match for the Black Angus bull Bitcoin Machine 2601 to maximize calving ease. We also dive into the platform's manual filtering tools, showing how to rank commercial and purebred females against a sire based on core EPD traits like birth weight, weaning weight, and average daily gain.
Key Features Highlighted:
Cai AI Assistant: Quickly evaluate your entire herd inventory, identify specific phenotypes, and query complex breeding scenarios.
Genomic Mating Predictions: Forecast calf outcomes by comparing sire and female genetics across Red Angus, Black Angus, and commercial cross-breeds.
Custom Trait Filtering: Rank potential mates based on prioritized EPDs to meet your exact herd goals.

How many bulls do I have in my account…?
The new COWBOAI™ assistant, “Cai,” answers “You have 5 bulls in your account”.
This was the very first real account question we asked Cai. The COWBOAI cattle agent looked into the user’s herd, found the bulls in the account, and returned the correct answer — including the individual animals.
That may sound simple, but it’s a big step.
Producers, we are on our way to an entirely new way to research your herd’s genetics, understand your Core 12™ Profiles, match cattle within your herd, and search a marketplace by genetics.
Ask Cai. Find the genetics. Make the match.
We’re just getting started.

Yesterday, I quantified another real-world use case for the patent-pending COWBOAI technology, at the Oklahoma Angus Association sale.
At a live cattle auction, I used AI to help evaluate potential purchases against the genetics I already owned, my breeding goals, and what our herd actually needed.
I combined the data with what I could see in person, phenotype, movement, structure, pedigree and updated breeding information. After I made the first purchase yesterday every remaining animal in my herd became a different decision, because the herd had changed. I added another animal. Re-evaluate. New pregnancy information became available. Re-evaluate. Another genetic need was filled. Re-evaluate. Every purchase changes the next decision in real time.
I think this could be especially important for new producers building a foundational herd of registered or genomically tested commercial cattle. Some producers like myself aren’t simply buying cattle. We’re making generational genetic decisions that could define our ranch for decades. Cattlemen have been manually reviewing epd’s and genomic tests forever trying to find the best matings and matches. I just prefer to use a new tool that packs as much detailed information into every herd decision.
COWBOAI will understand the cattle you already own, (registered epd’s or genomic tested commercial animals). The genetics you’ve already purchased and what you’re trying to build, then helping evaluate each available animal based on how it fits YOUR herd.
AI doesn’t replace the cattleman’s eye. Phenotype is critical. Docility can be inspected in the auction pens as well. COWBOAI just gives the cattleman another toool.
Remember, best animal in the sale “on paper”, might not the best animal for your herd, when considering the traits you are breeding for. And after you make your first purchase, the best choice for your second may completely change. That’s bigger than searching for cattle. That’s helping a new cattle entrepreneur architect a herd one genetic decision at a time.
Another real-world use case for the patent-pending technology.

Why the cattle world might eventually head to COWBOAI.com
I grew up working on my cousin’s ranch south of Seneca, MO. My wife raised show cattle and did FFA. We stayed around cattle for decades through friends and hunting leases, but didn’t run our own cows while raising kids and building businesses.
Now empty-nesters, we started a small registered Red & Black Angus herd. I got hooked on the genetics fast.
What frustrated me was how scattered everything is — sale catalogs, PDFs, social posts, semen directories, embryo auctions. Comparing available animals against the genetics already in our pasture felt like hunting a needle in a haystack.
So in 2025 I started using AI as a research assistant to organize pedigrees and compare EPDs. It helped me narrow the list before we bought. Then I’d call the producer and look at the real animal. Software will never replace a cattleman’s eye, but it sure helped me sort the mountain of data faster.
That experience made the gap obvious. Registered breeders have EPDs. Commercial producers are using more genomics. Everyone is still stuck connecting the dots the hard way.
I filed a provisional patent and I’m slowly testing ideas on COWBOAI.com — starting with what actually helps me make better decisions on our own place. No big promises. Just building and living with it.
If it works for me, maybe it can help other producers too — registered or commercial.

Angus Squared or Angus2
Bitcoin Ranch operates a small, but growing herd of registered Red and Black Angus cattle. Angus2 is a highly targeted trademark for a producer that focuses on both breeds.
I have really enjoyed learning more about cattle genetics, phenotypes and pedigrees. The greatest thing about what I’m building is, I don’t need to have hundreds of cows to make a difference in genetics. I just have to buy and breed the cattle that produce offspring with the genetics I desire. I will have so much more to unpack about that when the time is right!

Food for thought, friends…
As AI and robotics continue to reshape the world, we’re going to need a lot more computing power—and that means a lot more data centers.
If you’re investing in land today, it may be worth thinking beyond today’s market and asking what an area could look like 20 or 30 years from now.
Personally, I believe there may be increasing value in “safe haven” properties—places that are simply less attractive for large-scale industrial development because of their location.
Examples might include:
* Working ranches and ranching operations
* Resort and tourism communities
* Extremely rural areas with limited infrastructure
* Land bordering National Forests, BLM land, wildlife management areas, or other public recreation lands
* Areas with floodplain or flood overflow restrictions
* Locations far from major power transmission and fiber infrastructure
I can’t help but wonder if peace, quiet, dark skies, clean air, wildlife, productive grazing land, and natural beauty become even more valuable as our world becomes increasingly digital.
Just something to think about before your next real estate investment.
As many of you know, I recently filed a trademark application for Bitcoin Ranch Properties™ in real estate services and land development. If the mark registers, I’ll be looking for licensed real estate professionals who share this vision and want to help market exceptional ranches, working ranching operations, recreational land, and other trophy properties that embody these qualities.
I’m not a licensed real estate agent. I simply own a brand that I believe has the potential to become a recognized name for marketing these unique properties and connecting buyers who value privacy, conservation, ranching, recreation, and long-term stewardship of the land.

I bought another registered angus bull today, while my Bitcoin just ate popcorn and watched. Elite marbling and ribeye numbers. Top 10% in the USA. Light on his feet and phenotype is incredible.
Just 21 months old. Can’t wait to turn him out with the ladies.
Bitcoin + Land + Registered cattle = 😎
