Bitcoin Mining Uses 99.5% Less Energy Per Hash. But How? How far has Bitcoin mining technology come? According to research presented by Alexander Neumüller from the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, ASIC mining hardware has made remarkable progress since 2013: 99.5% less energy per hash, from 2,000 to just 9.5 J/TH. 4,800× more hashrate per machine, from 0.18 to 865 TH/s. What that means: Bitcoin mining is becoming significantly more efficient. Modern ASIC miners deliver substantially more computing power per unit of electricity. With rising electricity costs, this efficiency is becoming increasingly important for profitable Bitcoin mining, helping reduce operating costs and improve mining economics. The future of Bitcoin mining is not just about more hashrate. It's about using energy more efficiently. Who Is Behind Satoshi Nakamoto? Exactly one week ago, Satoshi Nakamoto was unveiled in Vienna. Or rather, a statue honoring Bitcoin’s creator. But the true identity of Satoshi remains one of the biggest mysteries in the Bitcoin world. Maybe Satoshi is one person, maybe a group, or maybe he doesn’t even exist anymore. What we do know: 2008: Satoshi published the Bitcoin Whitepaper, introducing the concept of a decentralized digital currency. 2009: The Bitcoin network went live with the mining of the Genesis Block on January 3. 2011: Satoshi disappeared from public communication, leaving Bitcoin in the hands of its growing community. More than 15 years later, Satoshi’s identity remains unknown, but his legacy lives on around the world. And one question remains: Are You Satoshi? As a Proof of Work Sponsor, we were proud to be part of the official unveiling of the Satoshi Nakamoto statue in Vienna’s Viertel Zwei and celebrate this special moment with @bitcoin_at , @satoshigallery and the Bitcoin community in Austria. #SatoshiNakamoto #Bitcoin #BitcoinMining #ProofOfWork #Unknown

Quantum Computers: A Threat to Our Digital World? Quantum computers use qubits instead of traditional bits, allowing them to solve certain complex calculations much faster than conventional computers. But what does this mean for security, not only for Bitcoin, but also for banks, passwords, and the internet? ₿ Bitcoin: The network relies on SHA-256 for mining, which remains comparatively resistant to quantum attacks. However, the digital signatures (ECDSA) that secure Bitcoin transactions could become vulnerable in the future. Wallets with already exposed public keys would be particularly at risk. Banks, Passwords & the Internet: Powerful quantum computers could also break widely used cryptographic methods, threatening sensitive data and digital communications. When Could This Threat Become Reality? Estimates suggest 10 to 30 years, although the exact timeline remains uncertain. The good news? Bitcoin can adapt through protocol updates and quantum resistant cryptography. The quantum challenge goes far beyond Bitcoin. It affects our entire digital infrastructure. Set aside €100,000 in 2020 to “save.” Today, approximately €75,500 of that money is left. 🇦🇹 Without having spent a single euro. The reason is the loss of purchasing power due to cumulative inflation of approximately 32% since 2020 in Austria. The account balance says 100,000. Prices tell a different story. While the euro loses purchasing power annually due to inflation, by comparison, 100,000 € in Bitcoin from 2020 is worth approximately 700,000 € ₿ today. Leaving your savings sitting aside, supposedly safe, means they’re shrinking. Inflation erodes purchasing power, while assets like BTC have risen in value since then. *Sources: Statistics Austria (CPI, base 2020 = 100), CoinMarketCap/CoinGecko (BTC price, Oct. 2026). Own calculations, rounded. Illustrative example of the loss of purchasing power since 2020. Not investment advice. AI Is Booming. And Bitcoin Mining Is Benefiting From It? The shift from BTC mining to AI is accelerating. An increasing number of publicly traded companies are shifting their focus away from BTC mining and toward AI. Many are now asking: Is this trend negatively impacting Bitcoin mining? Quite the opposite. Less competition in mining means a higher share of the hashrate for active miners. This can actually boost their profitability. Thus, Bitcoin miners are benefiting from the AI trend. #Bitkern #Bitcoin #BitcoinMining #MiningHosting #AI #AIShift

New Phone, Higher Price, Minor Upgrades. Same Story With Bitcoin Miners? In the early days, every new smartphone generation brought major improvements, from significantly better cameras to faster processors and entirely new features. Today, the differences between new models and their predecessors are often relatively small, yet prices can increase disproportionately. A similar trend can be seen in Bitcoin mining hardware. The latest ASIC models, such as the Antminer S23, come with significant price premiums compared to previous generations. But do the improvements in efficiency and performance really justify the additional cost from an economic perspective? And that raises an important question: Is buying the latest mining hardware always the most profitable choice? Sometimes, previous generations offer better mining economics, especially when combined with competitive electricity rates and high uptime. What matters most is not having the latest miner, but keeping your Bitcoin production costs as low as possible. Bitcoin is rising, while mining hardware prices remain comparatively low. That combination makes the current market environment particularly interesting for Bitcoin miners. From our experience, mining hardware prices can follow the Bitcoin price with a delay. When Bitcoin rises while hardware prices remain at lower levels, attractive market windows can emerge. Thanks to @matthias_reder and RETTE DEIN GELD for the insightful conversation and our long standing partnership. 🎥 Watch the full video for more on Bitcoin price, difficulty and mining hardware economics: youtube.com/watch?v=5MZmdUOr…
🚨 BITCOIN STEIGT – ABER DIE MINER SIND NOCH BILLIG. Und genau das könnte sich bald ändern. Ein S21 XP mit 270 TH/s kostet aktuell rund 3.900 US-Dollar. Als Bitcoin im Oktober 2025 bei rund 128.000 $ stand, kostete dieselbe Mining-Hardware über 6.000 $. Warum? Was passiert, wenn Bitcoin weiterläuft? Welche Rolle spielt die Difficulty? Und warum könnte gerade jetzt ein interessantes Zeitfenster für Mining-Hardware entstanden sein? 👉 Das Video solltest du dir ansehen, BEVOR du über Bitcoin Mining entscheidest. 🎥 Jetzt auf RETTE DEIN GELD auf YouTube hier: youtube.com/watch?v=5MZmdUOr… Folge RETTE DEIN GELD, wenn du Bitcoin nicht nur kaufen, sondern verstehen willst. Why buy Bitcoin at market price when you can produce it yourself? When you buy Bitcoin directly, you pay the current market price. With mining, your BTC is generated at production cost, mainly determined by hardware, electricity and operations. If those costs are below the current Bitcoin price, mining can create a cost advantage compared with buying BTC directly. That is why efficient hardware and competitive electricity costs matter. Don’t just buy Bitcoin. Produce it. #Bitcoin #BitcoinMining #BTC #Mining #Bitkern

You can't influence the Bitcoin price, but you can influence your production cost. Choose the right machine, the right power price and an experienced, reliable operator. These are the factors you can control. In some countries, mining hardware can also offer tax benefits through depreciation. You can’t control the market. But you can control how efficiently you mine it. And right now could be the time to use that advantage. First insights from our interview with @HashrateUp at Bitcoin Asia 2026 about Bitcoin mining and current market trends. #Bitcoin #BitcoinMining #BTC #Mining #bitcoinprice #bitcoinasia

Have you ever wondered if a Bitcoin miner can also mine other coins like DOGE or Litecoin? Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin all rely on Proof of Work, yet their mining hardware is not interchangeable. The reason lies in the different algorithms: SHA-256 vs. Scrypt. Scrypt was chosen to slow down the rise of specialized ASIC hardware. It worked for around 2.5 years. Then ASICs caught up, creating a second hardware ecosystem that still exists today. In our new article, we take a closer look at: ✓ How Bitcoin’s hardware race transformed mining ✓ What really distinguishes SHA-256 from Scrypt ✓ Why the attempt to slow down ASIC mining ultimately failed ✓ Why SHA-256 and Scrypt hashrates cannot be directly compared ✓ How Merged Mining allows miners to earn Litecoin and Dogecoin from the same computational work Different algorithms. Different machines. Different mining economics.
