The Department of Child & Adolescent Development @sfsu is hiring a tenure-track assistant professor in child and youth development in community settings. If that's you, please apply. The SF bay area is a wonderful place. cad.sfsu.edu/news-announce/t…

Pet peeve: authors who don't attach their newly validated/developed scale to the published paper. What's the point of developing a scale if people can't access it?

I took a few steps today. It's not much, but it is the first time that I have been able to walk in over 6 weeks. Today is a good day.

To #vote, or not to vote? 🗳️ In the case of #teens, stereotypes might push us to say they shouldn't be given the option. However, developmental research actually suggests allowing 16 & 17 year olds vote wouldn't be as big of a problem as some might think! doi.org/10.1177/174569162199…

The dominos are falling, several more cases at daycare along including multiple vaccinated teachers testing positive.
Update, our county is out of rapid covid tests and to receive any test, we will need to wait inside at an urgent care facility that are overflowing with true positive cases.

We have now had 3+ cases at our daycare and need to quarantine for 10 days. We just finished our first full week of classes. This isn’t normal. It’s August 2020.
Was raised on a dairy farm in rural Michigan and can confirm the original reference is complete bullshit.

IMO one of the larger shortcomings of psychological science is the continued pursuit + advocacy for individual-level solutions to structural-level problems.
I am, once again, asking people to stop using resilience as an individual trait (instead of a process or outcome). We gotta stop shifting the blame onto individuals for failing in failing systems.

Did it hurt? When you poured out your trauma to get into med school and were praised for being resilient and then were thrown to the wolves in a toxic system that turned its back on you while asking why you weren’t resilient enough to take the abuse?

Well, we made it 1 week into the semester before our daycare had a covid case. Remember that giant train about to hit us that we’ve all be screaming about? It’s here.
