From one unforgettable @breederscup moment… to another shot at glory! ❤️🏆
In 2024, IRON MAN CAL gave his Little Red Feather partners the thrill of a lifetime, defying the odds to finish a remarkable second behind Henri Matisse in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at @delmarracing.
Among those cheering him home was LRF partner @thebrownandrew, who shares ownership in Cal with friends from high school, some of whom travelled all the way from Australia to be part of the experience! 🇦🇺🙌
Two years later, the dream continues…
Now a G2 Pat O’Brien Stakes winner, IRON MAN CAL has earned his ticket back to the World Championships, this time for Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile at @keeneland! 🔥
From the roar of the crowd at Del Mar to the anticipation of another Breeders’ Cup adventure, Andrew reflects on what makes racehorse ownership so special: the friendships, the unforgettable moments, and the chance to experience it all together again.
Same horse. Same mates. Another shot at Breeders’ Cup glory! 🏇🧡

Messineo Makeover Scholarship recipients earn top placings across multiple disciplines, showcasing the talent of California’s off-track Thoroughbreds.
The 2026 Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover concluded in Lexington, Kentucky, earlier this month with CARMA’s Messineo Makeover Scholarship recipients turning in a strong showing across several disciplines, highlighted by a Golden State Award victory and multiple top finishes.
Classical Cat, ridden by Kiersti Wylie, led the way, earning the $5,000 Golden State Award, presented by the Thoroughbred Owners of California (TOC). Classical Cat also finished second in the Competitive Trail Championship and fifth in the Freestyle Championship, adding to an impressive week for the CARMA graduate.
Other notable performances included St. Eligius, ridden by Liz Miller, who placed second among amateur riders in Freestyle and fifth in Ranch Work. Beach Hero, with Teegan Carthew aboard, finished sixth in the Freestyle Championship, while Pacific Tide and Allie Silvera earned sixth among amateur riders in Dressage.
The younger members of Team CARMA also distinguished themselves. Prince Abama, ridden by Madison Curcie, finished fourth among junior riders in Freestyle and eighth in Dressage. Cali Bay (IRE), with Jileann Pinhero, placed fifth among junior riders in Dressage and eighth in Freestyle. Anisette, partnered with Emma Rosas and Kiersti Wylie, earned third in Freestyle Team and fourth in Competitive Trail Team.

Big results for a young rider and her very special Thoroughbred! 🐎💙
At just 15 years old, Emma Rosas took on the Retired Racehorse Project's Thoroughbred Makeover with Anisette (affectionately known as Anna), earning 3rd place in Freestyle Team and 4th place in Competitive Trail Team alongside trainer and mentor Kiersti Wylie!
A dedicated Pony Club member and aspiring horse trainer, Emma has built a wonderful partnership with Anna through patience, play, and plenty of affection (and watermelon!).
The California-bred daughter of Central Banker out of Anais, by Malibu Moon, retired from racing with three wins and $28,781 in earnings. Now, she's showing off her talents in a whole new arena!
With support from CARMA's Messineo Makeover Scholarship, Emma and Anna traveled from California to Kentucky, gaining valuable experience and taking another exciting step forward together.
Congratulations to Emma, Kiersti, and Anisette! We love seeing the next generation of horsemen and women championing Thoroughbred aftercare! 💙

Fast forward two years… and remarkably, the same three horses are shaping up to fly the LRF flag once again at the 2026 Breeders' Cup at @keenelandracing! 👏
🏇 GOLD PHOENIX could be heading to his FIFTH consecutive Breeders' Cup Turf!
🏇 IRON MAN CAL has graduated from the Juvenile Turf to a potential Dirt Mile appearance.

What a day. What a filly.
THOUGHT PROCESS put on a show in the G2 Rodeo Drive Stakes at @santaanitapark…. taking them gate-to-wire before powering clear to win by 4¼ lengths.
A Grade 1 winner.
A perfect 5-for-5 on the @santaanitapark turf.
And now… BREEDERS’ CUP BOUND. 🌎🏆
Saturday’s victory punched her ticket to the $2 million @BreedersCup Filly & Mare Turf at @keeneland, where she’ll take her place on racing’s biggest stage.
Congratulations again to all our LRF partners, Phil D’Amato, @HIBerrios and the entire team behind this very special filly.

Welcome to the LRF Stable, LEAVE A MARK 🐎
This athletic yearling colt by exciting young sire Up to the Mark had been on bloodstock agent David Ingordo’s radar well before the sale.
“I saw him at the farm and gave him a star,” Ingordo said. “When he got to the sale I liked him even more.”
Leave A Mark is from the highly anticipated first crop of Up to the Mark, the 2023 Champion Turf Male who captured three Grade 1 races at three different distances before finishing second in the Breeders’ Cup Turf.
He’s the first foal out of Chelsea Green (IRE) and comes from a deep female family packed with graded stakes performers.
⭐️ An exciting young sire
⭐️ A proven female family
⭐️ And a colt LRF had its eye on early
We’re looking forward to seeing Leave A Mark leave his mark in the LRF silks! 🧡

Welcome to the LRF Stable, DO NOT PASS GO! 🏇
One of our @keenelandsales September Sale purchases, this colt is by Collected (a sire LRF partners know very well!) out of black-type mare Creative Cairo.
Some familiar names have already flown the LRF flag for Collected, including Thought Process, Iron Man Cal and Conclude, and since relocating to California, Collected has quickly established himself as the state’s leading sire.
Do Not Pass Go now heads to the barn of @PhilDamato11, who has been behind so many memorable LRF moments over the years.
We’re excited to see what the future holds for this striking colt! 🧡
