My Top 1000 Songs #243: Out There. This 1990 indie pop gem from @blakebabies merged a ridiculously catchy chorus and angsty yet vaguely hopeful lyrics, plus Juliana Hatfield's sweetly fragile vocals, into a moody mixtape anthem that still resonates. jitterywhiteguymusic.com/202…

We’ll definitely release them if we can get the tapes. By the way, the version of Star from Innocence and Experience is from those demos. So you can hear what I’m talking about.

Earwig, the third album by @blakebabies, the first band fronted by Juliana Hatfield, stands a chance of making my #5albums89. Here is the song Rain youtu.be/aBN3ZA0X8AU, but the album also features a great Stooges cover. Check it out.

Revisiting Blake Babies’ Sunburn after 30+ years. I had forgotten how pleaslingly melodic John Strohm’s guitar parts were; sort of an American indie Johnny Marr.
