I'm being deadass when I say that La Bola Negra is the fastest film to ever become one of my all-time favorites. It left such a poignant feeling in my heart that will always move me, and it completely had me in ugly tears the second time around like I was a MESS.

I know this movie hits everyone hard, but being Spanish myself, knowing our history, knowing how many tombs are empty, knowing how much history is still missing, knowing how much fascism burned away and burried without a name, knowing how we got better and are now getting worse.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve mentioned how beautiful Sebastián (Guitarricadelafuente) eyes are throughout the whole film.
Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi on why Guitarricadelafuente was always their Sebastián, and what they saw in him before his first film role:
"The eyes, chico. They never lie. His eyes, his magnetism, his shyness, his duende. He has something magical. He’s touched by the gods of creativity. He’s so special. The camera loves him. You want to put a camera in front of him."
