Rest in peace, Latifa Akumu (23).
On 3rd October, Latifa was reading the eulogy for her late mother. Three weeks later, on 26th October, she went missing in Kibra.
Yesterday her body was recovered from the Nithi River in Chuka, dumped in a sack. She had been stabbed multiple times in the head and body, with a deep cut at the back of her head. Her fists were tightly clenched and she had bitten her tongue.
The suspected perpetrator is Daniel Wamutitu, a man who had been pursuing her after she rejected his advances.
May Latifa rest in peace. May her family find strength. And may justice be served.
