NEWS UPDATE: Forensic pathologist Dr. Raquel Fortun shares the initial autopsy findings for five of the 19 that died in the military’s operation in Toboso, Negros Occidental. She conducted the autopsy from April 25-29, upon the request of relatives. Fortun repeatedly urges relatives of the dead not to cremate them yet as doing so would remove the chance to study the remains. Of the five referred to for autopsy, Fortun says bodies ranged from well-preserved to “badly decomposed.” Some were reportedly found in the water. The five individuals who Fortun conducted an autopsy on were in their 20s. | via @chicristina_
