The next transformation of work will not simply be humans versus machines. It will be about how humans and AI agents collaborate, make decisions and create value together. Pascal Bornet's work on Human-Agent Orchestration explores this emerging management discipline. As enterprises introduce autonomous digital workforces, leadership itself will need to evolve. Are organisations preparing their people to manage AI agents, or are they deploying technology faster than they can govern it?

What happens when every machine, AI agent and autonomous system can act, transact and make decisions but we still cannot reliably prove who or what is behind it? We are entering an economy of billions of AI agents. NVIDIA OpenShell and the wider shift toward agentic infrastructure show how quickly machines are moving from passive tools to active participants across business, finance, industry and public systems. But autonomy without identity creates a new systemic risk. Every agent increasingly needs a way to prove its identity, permissions, provenance, accountability and level of trust. In the same way humans need passports to move across borders, machines will need digital identity layers to operate safely across the emerging agent economy. This is why I argue that the next AI infrastructure layer will not just be about models, compute and orchestration. It will be about trust, verification and machine identity. Eurostat reports that only 20% of EU enterprises with 10 or more employees used AI in 2025, compared with 13.5% in 2024. The growth is encouraging, but infrastructure alone will not deliver competitiveness. Europe needs AI skills, sovereign computing capabilities and real industrial adoption. Will the next phase of European AI be driven by investment in technology or by the ability to deploy it at scale?

What happens when factories stop being just automated production systems and start becoming intelligent, adaptive environments capable of planning, simulating and optimising their own operations? We are entering the next industrial revolution driven by Physical AI, digital twins and autonomous AI agents. @Siemens and @NVIDIA are demonstrating this transformation at Siemens' Electronics Factory in Erlangen, Germany. The results are significant: - Up to 85% reduction in engineering effort. - Up to 40% faster time-to-market. - Up to 20% savings in production planning costs. Using NVIDIA Cosmos world models, digital twins and AI agents, manufacturers can now simulate production processes, train inspection systems before physical prototypes exist and evaluate operational decisions in virtual environments. This is a fundamental shift. AI is moving beyond generating content and analysing information. It is becoming part of the infrastructure that designs, manages and transforms our physical economy. But the next challenge is not simply building autonomous factories. It is ensuring these systems are reliable, secure, interoperable and accessible to manufacturers of all sizes. The future of industry will increasingly depend on the convergence of AI, robotics, computing infrastructure and human expertise. Can Europe become a global leader in AI by building on what it already does best: engineering, manufacturing and industrial innovation? This is one of the most important questions emerging from NVIDIA GTC Berlin 2026. @NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz are advancing a new vision for Germany's industrial future. Their cooperation focuses on Physical AI, robotics, AI-powered factories and the development of a stronger European industrial AI ecosystem. Germany's manufacturing economy has decades of engineering expertise, specialised industrial data and a powerful Mittelstand of SMEs. But industrial knowledge alone is no longer enough. The next phase of global competitiveness will depend on how countries combine their industrial capabilities with AI infrastructure, accelerated computing, robotics and autonomous systems. NVIDIA is also planning investments in four German companies: Agile Robots, Avelios Medical, Mirelo and Reflex Aerospace. These developments are part of a wider NVIDIA commitment of nearly $10 billion to Europe's AI ecosystem. For Europe, this goes beyond technology investment. It is about industrial sovereignty, economic resilience, workforce transformation and the ability to build and control critical AI capabilities. The question is whether Europe can transform its industrial heritage into a competitive advantage in the emerging AI economy. What happens when the next breakthrough in quantum computing comes not from building a larger quantum computer, but from using classical supercomputing to make quantum systems more reliable? @NVIDIA has announced a major research milestone with a record-scale simulation of a 104-qubit fault-tolerant quantum computing system using Europe's JUPITER exascale supercomputer in Germany. The research validates an approach known as magic state cultivation that could reduce physical qubit requirements by up to 90% compared with previous methods. This is significant because one of quantum computing's biggest limitations is not just computational power. It is reliability. Quantum systems are extremely sensitive to noise and errors. Making them fault-tolerant requires sophisticated error correction and substantial computing resources. By using NVIDIA GH200 GPUs and advanced simulation technologies, researchers can investigate complex quantum architectures before building the physical hardware. We are witnessing an important convergence of three technological infrastructures: Artificial Intelligence and accelerated computing. High-performance and exascale supercomputing. Fault-tolerant quantum computing. These technologies are increasingly becoming interconnected foundations of the next computing economy. The implications could eventually extend across scientific discovery, materials research, pharmaceuticals, energy and advanced industrial systems. But quantum computing's future will depend on more than increasing the number of qubits. It will depend on making quantum computation reliable, scalable and economically practical. According to OpenRouter data presented during the keynote, AI agents are consuming 34x more tokens than at the start of February 2026, reaching 132.6 trillion weekly tokens in early October. As Jensen's second slide illustrates: "AI Factories Produce Intelligence. Agents Put Intelligence to Work." AI agents bring together models, knowledge, tools and execution environments to perform increasingly complex tasks, generating demand for more computing power and intelligence. We are moving beyond AI models that simply respond to questions towards systems that can execute workflows and deliver outcomes. What happens when AI infrastructure scales from thousands of GPUs to nearly a million? @googlecloud and @nvidia are preparing for the next phase of AI factories. Google Cloud’s Vera Rubin-powered A5X infrastructure is scheduled for general availability in November 2026, with plans to expand into Europe and potentially scale to 960,000 Rubin GPUs across multiple sites. This is not simply about building larger clusters. The infrastructure is being designed for the workloads now shaping the AI economy: agentic AI, reinforcement learning, enterprise automation and increasingly complex inference. Early use cases already include David Silver’s Ineffable Intelligence and WPP’s agentic creative workflows. The bigger question is how we translate this extraordinary computing scale into measurable economic value, while addressing power, cooling, security, governance and Europe’s continuing challenge around technological sovereignty.
