ALT This is an image of the Andromeda galaxy captured by Swift in ultraviolet (UV) light. At the middle of the galaxy is a lavender colored circle that shines brightly at the galactic center, surrounded by a round cloud of darker purple. Around it are dark faint spiral arms that start at the center and spread outward, filling the rest of the image. Each of the arms are filled with large cloud-like clusters of bright blue-white dots. Glittered throughout are about 20,000 UV sources in various tones of purple dots that represent the countless stars in the Andromeda Galaxy. The brighter white clumped spots in the image show where star clusters lie. This image is watermarked with “Credit: NASA/Swift/Stefan Immler (GSFC) and Erin Grand (UMCP).”

ALT This is a photo of a homemade donut with galaxy themed frosting and gold and silver edible glitter. The frosting is a swirling combination of purple, blue, and pink. The frosting is slightly dripping down the side of the light yellow cake donut, which is sitting on top of a poster of a starry background covered with various sizes of stars and light blue clouds of gas and dust. This image is watermarked with “Donut credit: Kelly Ramos” and “Image credit: Chris Smith.”
