My 2 cents on this topic: After playing Apex for 7 years now, the base game feels more like Wildcard game mode with every update. This is probably intentional to lower the skill ceiling. Apex used to have so much more buildup before a fight. A little tension… foreplay, if you will. Now you blink, the fights over. The huge difference is old Apex was about outplaying your opponent. Modern Apex is about overwhelming them. Axle tactical & ult is the perfect example of the direction we're headed. Axle spam slop is straight out of wildcard. Maybe I'm the minority, but I think normal/ranked Apex should be a high skill variant of the game and Wildcard should be the arcade spam mode for children. Also, revert the change to duos that shit sucks.
