Jeff Peterson is choosing to blow up his franchise only to build around this. I am not exaggerating at all here, this is Nico Harrison level franchise suicide. A Kon-Miller team is untenable without LaMelo’s playmaking brilliance. It doesn’t work. Hornets will have no future.
“They’re pivoting. The Hornets are looking at an opportunity to pivot. They *had* been about LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges. They want their future to be about Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller”…. Okay so we’re not sleeping tonight.

“Coby White will give you 80% of the production Lamelo gave you on half the salary” 😂😂😂😂 that comment was always dumb as hell… who said it? Was it @ZachLowe_NBA ?

Losing player. Unserious, unreliable doesn’t impact winning at all. Let’s just ignore the proven track record of him making his team’s offense 10 points better on the floor than off. No, it was all his fault that those Charlotte teams lost. Look how good Charlotte is without him!
LaMelo Ball is the only player in the league leading his team in points, assists, steals & 3-pointers.

The media and Jeff Peterson lied to you. I repeat, none of this is surprising whatsoever. Under Charles Lee the Hornets have been hopeless on offense without LaMelo and great with him. It’s just proven fact, statistically and otherwise. They gaslit you and lied to you about it.

I am not giving Hornets General Manager Jeff Peterson anymore grace. His trading of LaMelo Ball was a illogical move with the excuses LaMelo is not physically reliable and not a winning player. LaMelo is super healthy and winning games for the Timberwolves. #FireJeffPeterson

Only bright side is maybe now all the fake intellectuals will stop pretending like Jeff is actually some hidden genius who made this mastermind move by trading his best player for obviously poor value

What are you talking about me and the majority of the Hornets fans in the city of Charlotte especially those in the Black community. Been furious with Hornets GM Jeff Peterson for trading LaMelo Ball wanting Jeff fired immediately. White racists in the media cheered the trade.

Oh, this offense will be record-breaking all right… just not the way you want to be
The injuries are so brutal. Hard to sugarcoat this Hornets season so far. You expect them to take a step back after trading LaMelo Ball, but it’s extremely difficult to watch this team go from record-breaking offense to unwatchable in the span of six months.

Shut up you were spewing BS all summer
This Charlotte Hornets team is horrendous!! The off-season can either make you or break you. This offseason definitely broke the Hornets.

I missed Vecenie’s Hornets thread. Laughable. “You don’t want to end up like the Kings so you have to trade LaMelo”. The Kings wouldn’t trade their virtuoso playmaker PG for a big and then choose to overpay an inferior player (Fox/BMill) as their star. The Kings never did that!
Replying to @Sam_Vecenie
Not unfair, but also this thinking is what gets you where the Kings are now. And I thought the Kings did the right thing in 2022-23 in retaining their guys and being solid for a while. It resulted in zero playoff series wins and...what they are now. teapaw.org/laje0101/status/211823…

I get Vecenie’s in a tough spot as Russillo’s co-host, so he has to be anti-LaMelo/pro-trade for the approval of Russillo and other bald MAGA guests like Terrence Oglesby. But this is comedy. The Kings are where they are BECAUSE they traded Hali! How do you not see the parallels?

Trading your best player for stupid reasons is very much Kings behavior. The Kings would 1000% do something like trade LaMelo for Naz Reid, they already did it with Haliburton. That’s why they’re the Kings! Why does everyone give Jeff Peterson the benefit of the doubt here?

Jeff Peterson…
It's panic time in Charlotte. Worst offensive rating in the NBA by far. They take over half their shots from 3 even though they're shooting below 30%. Sion James cannot hit the side of the backboard, yet Charles Lee keeps empowering him to launch bricks. Brandon Miller is not looking worth the money. Kon Knueppel is hurt again already. Seeing a lot of bad body language across the roster. All the joy is gone. A step back was to be completely expected after trading LaMelo Ball but this is way worse than anticipated for the Hornets. This team looks broken.

Reminder that not only did Jeff Peterson trade his offensive engine and heart of the team for Naz Reid, he decided to pick Tidjane Salaun (whose option did not get picked up bc of how bad he is) over THIS Why does anyone trust him. Seriously
Donovan Clingan is special. No. 1 in total rebound percentage (23.6) No. 3 in offensive rebounds per game (4.0) No. 4 in shots blocked per game (2.2) No. 7 in total rebounds per game (10.3) No. 29 in 3PT% (46.2) No. 30 in FG% (52.2) *No. 150 in minutes per game (24.0) He is 22.

This is the perfect encapsulation of why I'll never give up on LaMelo Ball, ever. Across a grueling slog of 82 games, teams lose their love for the game and stop having fun. But never Melo. His endless positive energy and infectious desire to make the game fun is so, so valuable.
LaMelo lobs it to Rudy to put the game out of reach! 😂🤞🏾

You can't just paint by numbers and run mechanical plays expecting brilliance. There is an emotional, human undercurrent to the sport of basketball unlike any other. Knowing your moment, your spot, having trust in your teammates and confidence in your game, it's all intertwined.

The joy of a great PG is not just their vision or their passing ability. The true great playmakers uplift their teammates emotionally too, give them confidence, help them find their spots and niches, connecting with their coworkers and making them believe. LaMelo just gets 𝘪𝘵.
