Waited 2+ years for a family doctor in Canada. Gave up and paid a private service to get one. Got a physical. Cholesterol was elevated, so I got referred to a specialist. The specialist’s office just called to accept the referral. 18 months later. I’d forgotten what it was even for. In that time I overhauled my diet, went hard in the gym, and my levels are now great. I’m young and this wasn’t life-threatening. Plenty of people are having similar wait times for much worse things and aren’t so lucky.
