COACHES -> Play the Long Game. Focus on CULTURE. One good season does not define a program, team, or a coach. Good programs have an identity. Even in their down years. You can see and feel their CULTURE. Build your Culture Each and Every Day.

"I am giving myself to something greater than myself. You show up every day. You play your role, and you do your best." @TomBrady A team's culture can't be found on a poster in the locker room. It's found in the daily words, actions, and beliefs of every member of the team.

Itโ€™s easy to get caught up in the mindset of โ€œIโ€™ll be happy when...โ€; โ€œIt will be easier when...โ€; or โ€œOnce I overcome [insert obstacle] it will be smooth sailing.โ€ Remember the Haitian Proverb: โ€œBehind the mountains are more mountains.โ€ It doesnโ€™t get easier, you get stronger.

Being motivated isn't a reliable attribute, but being committed is. If you are committed to something, you show up and do what you need to do, regardless of how you feel.

We donโ€™t know what we donโ€™t know. Growth happens when you allow people you trust to point out the things you canโ€™t see about yourselfโ€”the good and the bad.
