Kevin Maguire is spot on, all this talk about people stocking up is part of a wider lobbying campaign to increase defence spending. And as Kevin points out, the UK is already the 6th biggest defence spender in the world.

Thatβs Β£190,000 each. Buy them a house.
Instead itβs contracts, outreach teams and councils deciding where the cash goes.

π¨ The @BoardofDeputies has declared @TheGreenParty a racist, antisemitic party for its opposition to Zionism.
We need to unpick just how deeply hypocritical this position is, and the extraordinary double standards at its heart.
The Board fiercely defends Zionism and the Jewish right to national self-determination, while in 2025 actively opposed Britain's recognition of Palestine as a state.
It acknowledges the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, but largely frames it as just that: a humanitarian catastrophe.
It hasn't recognised Israel's actions as genocide or unequivocally condemned the Israeli government's overall conduct in Gaza.
So here's the fundamental contradiction...
Zionism isn't simply an abstract religious belief in Jewish self-determination. It's a political ideology whose founding objective was to establish a Jewish homeland IN PALESTINE.
A land already inhabited by another people, whose slaughter, dispossession, displacement and denial of fundamental rights cannot simply be erased from the conversation.
And yet, that's EXACTLY what's happening.
Those speaking up for Palestine often say you can't present a genocide as a debate between two equally legitimate sides.
But we're not even getting that far.
When Jewish self-determination is fiercely defended, while Palestinian statehood is opposed, and the human suffering is discussed without confronting the political responsibility for it, Palestinians themselves are being erased from the very conversation about their future.
What does it say about our understanding of racism when the rights and humanity of an entire people can be treated as secondary, or even not at all?
The most damning question of all is what this says about our own @UKLabour government.
Because whether through fear of being branded antisemitic, political self-preservation, or a calculated move to mask its own complicity in the atrocities being committed, this is a position our government continues to accommodate, defend, and aplify.
Rather than unequivocally standing up for Palestinians being killed by the IDF, it continues to embolden its political relationship with the Israeli state.
We've reached a point where challenging an inherently racist and dangerous political ideology is treated as more outrageous than the mass killing, dispossession and destruction being carried out in its name.
Antisemitism is racism. It must be confronted wherever it exists.
But opposition to Zionism is not antisemitic, it's morally and lawfully correct. And no political ideology, state or government should EVER be granted immunity from scrutiny, particularly when the consequences are measured in human lives.

This is a victory for the people, for the planet and for peace.

The Board of Deputies are not representative of all Jews. We are not a monolith. The BoDs purpose is to promote the supremacist political ideology of zionism and weaponise Judaism on behalf of the genocidal state of Israel. They serve no other purpose.

Why are the government telling us to stockpile food and water?
What do they know that we donβt. Something sinister is going down.
Russia isnβt the threat either.

If I thought for one minute that the Labour Party were genuinely serious about tackling antisemitism, I would fully support them
However, weaponising antisemitism to silence criticism of Israel is a cynical political move that exploits the Jewish people for political gain
The damage this inflicts on the very community that Labour claims to be defending is something no decent human being should ever get behind

Hi @ShahrarAli
I am a Jewish Green
@BoardofDeputies do not represent most British Jews. They act as a lobby group for Israel
You may agree or disagree with the Zionism is racism motion (I agree) but it NOT racist to attack a political ideology
What IS racist is to support & enable the GENOCIDE of people BECAUSE they are Palestinian

Palace insiders reported that Kate, Princess of Wales, did not accompany William to commemorate the Aberfan disaster that killed 116 children and 28 adults because the Princess is in remission from her never-ending cancer woe and must take extra precautions with her immune system making outdoor engagements in chilly weather a potential risk.
Does that not make a nonsense of her curious claim and apparent risk to have climbed Three Peaks in 24 hours where typical summit temperatures range between 5Β°C and 10Β°C but sudden cold snaps ad biting winds can bring temperatures close to 0Β°C, and snow is still uniquely possible on Ben Nevis.
It is time for the palace fraudsters to come clean and tell us the truth about Kate's fragile health apart from the permanent excuse of cancer.

This is Apartheid.
It's morally disgusting - and comes at the same time as Israel is committing an ongoing genocide.
To see the Labour Government defend Israel repeatedly will horrify the British public - it cannot go on like this.
