We were neck & neck with a famous NYC firm for a big NYC project. I just learned they won because “they came prepared with work completed for free.”
I expressed shock.
They told me “our ceo is impressed with initiative.”
I have a name for that, too.
But it ain’t “initiative.” – at East Falmouth, MA

John Bull Printing Outfits weren’t only about rubber stamps. In 1946 they produced a kit which used 12pt Gill Sans, cast on a Monotype machine. It wasn’t a success and the toy was withdrawn less than a year later. Children and lead probably don’t mix.

No matter your personal taste re: brutalism, surely one must question the idiocy of @DerbyCC demolishing a useful, substantial municipal building and replacing it with... shipping containers? Witless crap that does nothing to improve the city.
Replying to @OSaumarezSmith
Derby Council have released these images of how the Market Place would look if it gets permission to demolish the Assembly Rooms - which even in the sunny rendering is a pathetic non-place. What a grotesque failure of imagination to prefer this to a revitalised Assembly Rooms.
