People who say the EFF did poorly are morons. Voter turnout in EFF voter base, townships and rural areas, was pathetically low, yet the EFF managed to grow its votes from 1,1 million to 1,2 million (at 72% of votes counted). The overall voter turnout increased from 45% to 52%, largely because of higher turnout in urban areas, which are not the EFF support base. Those dizzy middle-class people voted DA. Simply looking at the EFF’s percentage share of votes would lead any illiterate to conclude that the EFF support declined, which is not the case. But we’re dealing with simple-minded humans who are not burdened by critical thinking.

Julius Malema still remains the only figure that can mobilise Black South Africans politically. Problem he’s got a dream about some Africa that can’t even vote for him. That dream doesn’t make sense to South Africans voters
