Also shout out to @McbainTech for his work on this while & AWS.
Variables and JSONata support (instead of JSON Path).
Step Functions users are now able to assign values to variables and avoid passing data between states.
JSONata brings a lot of transformation functions that were not possible with JSON Path.

Yesterday we released EventBridge Stripe integrations and HTTP integrations with Step Functions ❤️
Super powerful patterns emerge! We can use events and orchestration to communicate between systems.
Direct integrations into EventBridge allow us to focus on our business logic vs integration code between the systems. Then using Step Functions we can orchestrate logic to go back out to Stripe if we want (using the new HTTPS endpoints)

Just Launched: Based on your feedback, we have now added improved error handling capabilities to AWS Step Functions. You can now add jitter to retries, add a maximum backoff threshold, and construct detailed error messages for failed states. Enjoy!

The DA team assigns #Serverless patterns using Step Functions. This includes API calls to Asana. We catch failures and email via SNS if an API token expires. This happened yesterday. I refreshed the token, re-ran the failed workflows and all is well again!
