I know I’m not the only one thinking it, but I haven’t seen anyone else say it yet
All college baseball coaches know you don’t argue balls & strikes, literally every single one of them
Final press conference should be about the players & their great season, not about the coach
That narrative could have easily been shifted, what happened could have been ‘owned,’ but it wasn’t and now no one is talking about the amazing season and this amazing group of young men
Nothing is personal from me, I commend everyone on their hard work and congratulate the accomplishment of the season, but the bottom line is we can’t pick and choose what we want to be accountable for as leaders. Leaders are accountable for it all and when you point the finger, that’s what you’re teaching in that moment. If it’s a big moment, that’s what you’re teaching to do in the big moments

The Cardinals offense through 9 games:
.301 AVG (1st in MLB)
.380 OBP (1st in MLB)
.482 SLG (2nd in MLB)
.862 OPS (2nd in MLB)
100 H (3rd in MLB)
14 HR (5th in MLB)
59 RBI (4th in MLB)
62 R (4th in MLB)
73 K (22nd in MLB - that’s good)
The front office completely let this offense down by not making any moves in the rotation and pen. Abominable.

Hot Take!
In my new hometown in TX this is their football facility for a HIGH SCHOOL!
The baseball facility is just as nice.
Why don’t schools in CA have facilities like this? There seems to be more of a priority around sports here.

The #1 Plyo Mistake
Many athletes end up yanking their throws to the center line of the target. Amongst other factors (like going too heavy), this can lead to a pushing path & your first throws cutting in catch play.
This is often made worse by throwing to narrow plyo walls.
