I wish either my father or my mother, or indeed both of them, as they were in duty both equally bound to it, had minded what they were about when they begot me;

I am torn between being utterly heartbroken that this kind of bigotry exists in this country where people complain about an LGBT+ display at a library DURING PRIDE, and so very proud of the wonderful malicious compliance by the @ErieLibrary children’s librarians. 🌈

that thing where you file a legal brief that you asked another lawyer to help you with, and that other lawyer chatgpted it, and chatgpt straight up invented a bunch of citations with quotes to support your argument, and now the judge is pissed. reason.com/volokh/2023/05/27…

there's finally a semi-official definition of long covid, and it looks like between 10% and 23% of people who get covid end up with it. archive.ph/RKpcJ

apparently the solution to multiple years of not being able to focus enough to read a book is to just rotate through 8 audiobooks, one chapter each, in series. #technicallyreadingagain

What Wikipedia did: we stood strong for our principles and fought to the Supreme Court of Turkey and won. This is what it means to treat freedom of expression as a principle rather than a slogan.

"IRREGARDLESS" HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE 1795. ITS INCLUSION IN THE DICTIONARY IS NOT A SIGN OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE FALLING TO PIECES, OR PROOF OF THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM FAILING, NOR IS IT THE WORK OF CURSED MILLENNIALS. IT JUST MEANS A LOT OF PEOPLE USE IT TO MEAN "REGARDLESS."

Better statement: "Kaitlyn had an impossible job, whiffed on some major points where she failed to follow up (namely infanticide) and tried to wrangle Trump, often without success. She allowed a victim of sexual assault to be disparaged and mocked by Trump and an unruly crowd. The entire thing was an embarrassment. We failed to serve our audience or bring clarity to complex issues facing Americans. We think it probably got good ratings tho, so.... bygones!"
NEW: CNN statement on @kaitlancollins following #TrumpTownHall: “Tonight Kaitlan Collins exemplified what it means to be a world-class journalist. She asked tough, fair and revealing questions. And she followed up and fact-checked President Trump in real time …”
