I came in to #ASTRO26 for the GI and GYN highlights session. I think, a waste of time in the era of on demand talks as can see the originals if missed. Would have been better to have the best 4 oral presentations with a 5-10 minute discussant. Then worth attending on final day

Good gynae scientific session with an excellent summary discussion #ASTRO26 we’ve just started using an HR-CTV in inoperable endometrial cancer so good to see this is supported by survival evidence

Good recommendations for vulvar cancer brachy, good to keep in mind as an adjunct to our @RCRadiologists ebrt contouring guidelines. #ASTRO26

My favourite session so far at #ASTRO26 important for us and our patients to stop for a moment and introduce art into our lives with great respect to the @IJROBP for developing this

The most prevalent new thing I’ve seen today is work on ctDNA, for my practice in gyn and GI cancers. Very interesting work and invites the question what do we do for +ve ctDNA post RT? #ASTRO26

And here is a truly wholesome (but slightly unusual) #ASTRO26 addition. The ability to cuddle puppies at lunchtime

Very old-fashioned of me but I do like this printed paper daily summary at #ASTRO26 and the paper schedule to plan, though I miss functionality of the app that @ESTRO use for their congress

A presenter just stated that European guidelines tend not to be evidence based or referenced and are more often expert opinions. Sitting on guidelines panels in UK and Europe I found that quite incendiary and disappointing to hear #ASTRO26

Very good talks on molecular subtypes and treatment for endometrial cancer-nicely summarised, with the final slide showing the presenter has as many questions as I do about what to do for the less clear cut cases #ASTRO26

Excellent session on value of RT in metastatic CRC. A recommendation for organ preservation in this group, contrary to UK NICE recommendation which I feel was the wrong decision by NICE. Also a reminder to examine the molecular profile of our local regrowths #ASTRO26

Good to see contact x-ray brachytherapy (Papillon technique) described at #ASTRO26 ready to see it in the US soon 🇺🇸

In the running for best dressed on the podium… great dress choice #ASTRO26

A really nice graphic to demonstrate the team behind the patient, also reminding us that having all these people involved can be really confusing (especially when we include all the additional staff in each team) and we must remember to introduce ourselves and our role #ASTRO26

These decision making priorities are eye-opening, especially when working in an organ preservation setting. The treatment efficacy is not a patient’s highest priority-when a higher local regrowth rate or more intensive surveillance may be balanced by improved QoL #ASTRO26

Thank you Dr Mahmoud for an outstanding talk at #ASTRO26 on organ preservation in rectal cancer. Your balanced, patient-first perspective, putting the right treatment with the right patient, not one-size-fits-all surgery, is exactly the kind of leadership cancer care needs. Grateful for the clarity on radiation’s evolving role and the reminder that the best care is the one that fits the person in front of us. #OrganPreservation #RectalCancer @PennMedicine @ASTRO_org

Great discussion of organ preservation and need for careful monitoring if complete response in rectal cancer, even more so with near complete #ASTRO26 #radonc

Interesting perspective at #ASTRO26 on how people get their information updates. Would be interesting to poll at the end of the conference-hopefully live meeting would be higher in popularity. I feel it would be higher in a UK/European poll

Great to start the day at #ASTRO26 with a discussion on organ preservation and to have rectal cancer up there but sad to see that brachytherapy and the OPERA trial didn’t find its way into the talk, especially as there is the first CXB machine almost ready to start in NYC
