I have to show off our incredible and dedicated surgical #epilepsy team (with some behind the camera) in our second ever ECOG/ acute SEEG guided awake resection at @uOttawaNSx.
Jan 2025 was a busy month at the Civic Hospital and @uOttawaNSx
So incredibly proud of the surgical epilepsy team and partners for achieving our first SEEG (and two more since then), RF ablation, and disconnection surgery.

Today is International #EpilepsyDay Let's be aware that #Epilepsy is the second most common neurological condition. Many cases can be prevented. It can be treated. How frequent is it? 5-6 per 1000 Canadians can be affected, 14 per 1000 in Latin America, likely higher in Africa.
