This is v sad @rossjanderson was a great battler against dangerous stupidity. His Security Engineering textbook was so readable, a hidden pop science classic. We met 3 wks ago to discuss working together with his team. He'll live on thru his work, influence and, no doubt, friends

Sinking every Cruise ship on earth is genuinely one the best things we could do as a species.
At least other high emmisions industries produce a usable or even necessary end result.

Ok. Deep breath.
I think we may look back on this as the first Great Information War. Except we're already 8 years in.
The first Great Information War began in 2014. The invasion of Ukraine is the latest front. And the idea it doesn't already involve us is fiction, a lie.

Historian of coups and right-wing authoritarians here. If there are not severe consequences for every lawmaker & Trump govt official who backed this, every member of the Capitol Police who collaborated with them, this "strategy of disruption" will escalate in 2021

The @NAACP’s “A MAN WAS LYNCHED YESTERDAY” flag, flown outside their NYC headquarters in the 1930s, is one of the most effective pieces of graphic design from the 20th century. It should be a standard topic for reading and discussion in design education.

Back from a well earned ride after 12.5 hours on a Covid ward yesterday. (Which is a horrid place). Neighbours have friends round in the garden drinking etc.... I mean words don't even describe it. #socialdistancing #coronavirus #notacceptable

As a GP I recently stopped clinical practice I came off the performers list. I wanted to make myself available if needed. I have applied and become the first ever GP to be registered as an Emergency Registered Practitioner. I would encourage recently retired GPs to do the same.

Through this activity, it is possible to turn a green street red which has an impact in the physical world by navigating cars on another route! #googlemapshacks simonweckert.com/googlemapsh…
