Today the PHP project released security updates addressing two critical "PHP2Shell" vulnerabilities.
If your site is hosted on @wordpressdotcom, @WordPressVIP, @wpcloudofficial, @Pressable, @tumblr, or any Automattic infrastructure, you’re already protected.

🎙️ We chat with Brian Alvey @brianalvey, CTO at @WordPressVIP, about how AI agents are changing the business models of the web, what parts of how we build our sites won’t survive our current digital evolution, and why your site will always need structured content.

★ Required reading for makers of websites: Matuzo’s HTML boilerplate in 2026.
Every element world-class front-end dev, author, a11y auditor & web standards speaker Manuel Matuzo uses for the basic structure of an HTML document … with explanations.
Updated from his classic 2021 boilerplate, ’cuz a lot has changed in HTML since then.

How is this not a @colossal project?
This was really uplifting to see when I was recovering from the norovirus putting me in the hospital.
Life is short. Work with people you love. Who needs sleep?
Thanks brother!

Sunday mission: express gratitude for an amazing human in your life — before they’re gone.
Take a break from politics, podcasts and tokenmaxxing.
Take your shoes off and touch some grass or sand, and reflect on the outpouring of love for @om and @JoshuaBaer we witnessed when these two beautiful humans died too young over the past couple of weeks.
Think of a great human in your life you might not have talked to in a bit, and say something extremely honest about them.
Right here, right now… a mini, pre-eulogy that they can enjoy in the human realm.
I’ll start.
Before All In and the Uber lottery ticket, my partner was @brianalvey
One of the smartest, strongest and steadfast men I’ve ever met.
Whose loyalty to me in the arena was unwavering, even when I was completely making it up as we fought to make something — anything — of ourselves.
Two kids from Brooklyn with less than $1,000 between them in our bank accounts at any time… but absurdly rich in enthusiasm, skills and fearlessness.
Nothing to lose, no need for sleep… just a passion to build something.
CyberSurfer, the next D&D, Silicon Alley Reporter, Weblogs Inc, or Meet the Makers — anything that might… work.
A giant of a friend, collaborator, father, husband and futurist.
The fastest wit at the table, with a wry smile and the perfect insight every time I needed it.
Brian Fucking Alvey.
Love you brother

Fun thinking back on all the @Microsoft products I've used in my career: Excel, Outlook, ASP, IIS, NT, SQL Server, Access, Visual Basic‚ and now GitHub, LinkedIn and VS Code.
And great to talk about all the challenges running high-traffic enterprise websites!
What does it take to run high-risk, high-traffic websites for organizations like NASA and the White House?
In this episode, I talk to @brianalvey from @WordPressVIP about security, scale, identity integration, governance, and AI.

Do you use Studio as part of your dev workflow? I want to talk with you, we are working on something exciting :)
Early access! WordPress Studio now has an independently installable CLI.
One command to install: npm install -g wp-studio
And another to run WordPress locally, no desktop app needed: npx wp-studio
It works on Mac, Windows, and Linux and makes it easy for your AI coding tools to interact with Studio.
