After putting it off for years, I wanted to write something in advance of the season. It's not a season preview, or anything analytical like that. Maybe you could call it an open letter! brianhwc.substack.com/p/vanc…

The only reason Lankinen makes highlight reel saves sometimes is because he's always out of position and diving around lol

Also in Kevin Lankinen's defence he's only been playing goalie for 30 years. It will take him a bit more time to get comfortable but once he does, the league's in trouble

Every Canucks powerplay is Filip Hronek just standing like this for 30 seconds when he gets the puck and then blasting it into someone's skates

Raty should use this opportunity to sit out the season and just go work on skating for a year in the snow capped mountains of Finland

I’m sure @ThomasDrance was happy to see Elias Pettersson be more assertive in the neutral zone today

Crazy stat. He also had 8 points in all of October last year, and now has 8 points on October 8th

#Canucks Elias Pettersson has 4 5v5 assists through 5 GP this season It took him until January 23 (43 GP) to reach 4 5v5 assists last season

Lekkerimäki being willing to make plays with defenders on his back is something we haven’t seen at the NHL level so I would say today was a big step for him

Replying to @brianhwc @Sapsterr_
He looked good again today. More encouraging is how good Lekkermaki looked.

Elias Pettersson in a 7-2 losing effort tonight: • 2 assists • +2 plus/minus • 2 hits • 70.8% xGF% at 5v5 • up to 8 points in his first 5 games this season This is insane he's actually back.
