Went on a date with a girl once who accidentally texted me, minutes after I picked her up, "Help. Get me out of here."
Why didn't Amazon Health "ride the coattails"? Or any of the other thousand telehealth players? Identifying a tinderbox market space then betting on the brand that will dominate it is what venture investing is.
Peloton, Hims, Facebook, Netflix... Find the next one.
To all the $HIMS devotees, a few thoughts: Congrats, you got lucky that it could ride the coattails of the pharma weight loss blockbuster. But now, you have to ask yourself from where any additional upside will come. The new arrangement with $NVO is both undifferentiated (others got the same deal) and eliminates HIMS' previous price advantage. Any previous investment thesis founded on weight loss is now impaired. If management sees so much upside: 1) why didn't they purchase a single share on the recent stock pullback to the $20s, and 2) why are they ringing the register by issuing a convert? Convert issuances are often the death knell to subsequent upside. For example, $SMCI's well-timed convert issuance in 2024/25 signaled its peak. Lastly, who really believes that management has confidence in setting 2030 guidance when selling completely DISCRETIONARY products in an evolving competitive and drug landscape. To us, investing as all about risk/reward and it feels like there is more downside risk

My heart is broken. A 16-year-old high school student in Georgia texted her mom, "I know I've not been a perfect daughter. I love you. I'm sorry." Enough is enough.

Shelley Duvall was just fabulous. A great balancing act of film acting.
Be simple, but choose big.
Be beautiful, but look interesting.
Be real, but larger than life.
She was a perfect screen actress. A dream in almost any role. I’m Olive Oyl against Robin Williams? A killer.

Americans are getting a wage boost.
That’s hard data, not political spin.
Just 13% of workers in the U.S. are now earning less than $15 an hour. Two years ago, that number was 31.9%.
Even accounting for inflation — $15 an hour in 2024 has the same buying power as about $14 in 2022 — this is remarkable progress.

I used to spend eight figures on this platform advertising. Elon has reduced it to sex toys and Russian bots. A bigger fall than MySpace. Mind-blowing.
At 9:07 pm tonight my email was registered with gov't databases, primarily in the state of Arizona. Anyone ever seen this before?

My house was robbed and we couldn’t get a cop to show up for hours. Overhead we were passed by no fewer than 70 police helicopters.
They fly over every five minutes and that’s not an exaggeration.
I've been telling y'all for 3 years that this was the brand.
Everyone should be able to access the treatments and medications they need to feel good and address their health needs, and at a fair price.
We’ve built the $HIMS platform to offer access to personalized care affordably, and today we’ve taken that promise a step further: by leveraging the size and scale of our platform, we’ve secured access to one of the highest-quality supplies of compounded GLP-1s available, and we’re able to offer them to our customers starting at $199/monthly.
