Perfect encapsulation of the media in France: a Jewish student reports on being violently attacked by militants at the RN congress, and is then asked by the broadcaster, who is obsessed with calling anti-Israel protesters antisemitic, if maybe she shouldn’t have said anything.

Just as the students have predicted, the Student List will form the government. It will have around 135-140 places in the National Assembly, while Vučić and SNS will have 105. We are set to see how a leaderless movement can govern. 021.rs/info/srbija/458965/uz…

He means "choose Melénchon, and the people I work for will give you Le Pen, with the full weight of the security services behind her." But they'll give you that anyway with or without LFI leading the resistance to it.
Choose Melenchon, get Le Pen

In 2022, when Russians inexplicably failed to topple Putin, we were told Russians just don't do revolutions. Too Asiatic or something. Now we're told the protests in France are due to Russian disinformation and/or migrants. I guess the French also just don't do revolutions.

And did the experience of "facing antisemitism at school" involve a teacher wearing a Palestine badge? If the answer is yes, that wasn't antisemitism; if the answer is no, banning badges is clearly irrelevant.

If we agree on a train from Dortmund to Düsseldorf at 6:58 though, it arrives at 7:54, at another platform, which we announce at 7:52 so that you have to run there at the last second. The bad thing about clichés is that they are often false.
Germany's Chancellor Merz to investors: If we agree on delivery dates, we stick to it. If you invite friends from Germany for dinner at 7, we will arrive at 6:58. We are reliable, predictable, precise, and unsurprising. We are, in short, what investors like most. So the good thing about clichés is this: they tend to be true. So if you pick the core of this assumed Germanness, you might actually like what you get. Yes, we do have our own challenges, but Germany's DNA proves to be rather helpful in the face of a world which is harder and harder to read and to predict.

Maybe it's that the pundit class doesn't want to be seen as excusing urban violence, but there hasn't been nearly enough alarm – or comment – at the concerted attempt to depict the protests in France as 'race riots'. jacobin.com/2026/10/france-s…

It's funny that Eastern European standpoint epistemologists explain to us that we must listen to them, on the ground that unlike naive Western Europeans they understand the Russian soul, but then proceed to peddle this kind of delusional garbage.
Russia has a clear interest in seeing looting and disorder on the streets of France and Italy. This is part of its multidimensional shadow war against the West.
