The cost of living crisis is having a devastating impact on the survivors of domestic abuse. Today, Birmingham Labour pledged to do even more to support women through the cost of living crisis, and challenge the Government to give us the funding we so urgently need. 💜
Congratulations Saima Ahmed, our new councillor in Sparkbrook & Balsall Heath East.
A fantastic result and welcome to our Labour Group!

My thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time. I join everyone across Birmingham and the United Kingdom in hoping for her recovery.
I’m supporting @CllrShaunDavies as the next @LGA_Labour Leader who I know will be a strong voice for Labour in Local Government across the UK.

Absolutely devastated at the death of my friend and colleague Jack Dromey. A true Labour man who served the people of Erdington with passion and dedication, Jack devoted his life to the service of others. He will be sorely missed and my thoughts are with his family at this time.

My journey to #COP26 is going to take over 4 hours today. That’s twice as long as the equivalent journey in France. We need the Government to back High Speed 2, in its entirety, to increase capacity on the UK’s rail network, and fight the climate crisis.
