this isn’t super glamorous but the gpu driver now (in certain places) matches apple’s gpu stuff at a hefty 60fps and also it rotates for the love of the game
this being a native port means i can’t just patch together some qemu bullshit. this is a real tegra x1 metal driver that only _sometimes_ falls back to an nvk pipeline. my target is to have 0 such fallbacks in uikit and the OS itself. because they really really hurt to see. here’s hoping!
and i also finally patched enough of ios that it’s actually comfortably usable without things being frustratingly small.
most hardware works at this point. it’s much easier to list out what doesn’t:
- usb3
- usb dp alt (aka dock support)
- deep sleep
- usb host mode (connecting keyboards, mice, and other garbage over the usb c port)
- awdl (airdrop)
and everything else down to the ambient light sensor already works. the stuff listed is also super fixable so we are like 90% of the way there. all that’s left is some gpu driver fuckery, getting arm64e -> arm64 translation down right, and we got liquid glass on the ninty switch before gta6.
thx for coming to my ted talk

it's rly funny that bc of agents small teams make big tech devtools for themselves. i vibe coded this thing that uses portless to bring up our monorepo stack with deterministic non-colliding ports so we can work on a lotta worktrees at once.
just spent 2.5hrs in a waymo going from palo alto to sf i feel like im going to spontaneously combust
