Playing on a Mac should be easy… and free. I spent a week of evenings building Cartouche, a game launcher for Apple silicon Macs. Connect your store account, download a game, play. Steam, Epic, GOG and Amazon all land in the same library. Old Windows game? Drop its .exe or archive in and watch it install. Even older? Add your ROM and play through RetroArch (@libretro). It won't run everything. Anti-cheat kills some games on a Mac, so Cartouche tells you before you download. Reply with a game you miss. Let's see if it runs.

Stepped into a community that looks for drama, then blocks you when they run out of arguments. We just wanna play on Mac bro, chill. Licenses are respected, CodeWeavers credited.

Working on frame gen for Cartouche. Lots of games run under 60 fps on a Mac. I already added DLSS and FSR through D3DMetal, and a built-in scaler for games that have neither. Frame gen goes through MetalFX interpolation. It's not there yet. The motion vectors are guessed, so there's ghosting and about 8 ms more latency (17 to 25 ms). That's my side project while I look for a freelance mission or a job. Open to work, DMs open.

Cartouche 0.1.1 is out. Games without D3DMetal now run on DXMT instead of failing to start. (Raft works again @mike_dreeman 😅). Cartouche names the right Apple download for D3DMetal and tells you when a new one ships. Homebrew has its own tap. Update in the app, or download here cartouche.bryann2k.dev

Free, no account needed. Needs an Apple silicon Mac on macOS 15+. Download: github.com/BRYANN2K/cartouch… Games guide (FPS by Mac, fixes, anti-cheat): cartouche.bryann2k.dev/games No games, ROMs or BIOS included. It started as a fork of NotProton, credit to its devs.

First launch: macOS will warn you. Cartouche is signed but not notarized, so open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway. Notarization needs a paid Apple developer membership. If you want that warning gone for everyone, tips go straight to it: ko-fi.com/bryann2k

I built the Claude Code mod I wanted. You sign the spec, a crew of Claude models ships it. Works in the terminal and the desktop app.

You talk the change through with an orchestrator, and it writes a spec with acceptance criteria. Nothing gets built until you press Approve, and the model can't press it for you. Then each task goes to a Claude model picked for the job, in its own git worktree and limited to its own files. A separate session checks every criterion, and the change ends as one local commit. Also works in Codex (skills only) and OpenCode
