Here's a satellite pic. (partly to mostly cloudy in West Michigan - clouds have thin spots), radar (a few very light showers and sprinkles and much of this is aloft and not reaching the ground), the Holland Beach this afternoon and Mackinac Island (some horses still there).
Current air temperatures: South Haven 64°, Grand Rapids 60°, Cadillac 54°, S. Ste. Marie 44°.
Current water temperatures: Holland 56°, Reeds Lake 59°.
We'll have a 99% full moon this evening. The time change is Saturday night ("fall back"), tomorrow low 70s with some sunshine, a mild day on Halloween with a 30% chance of a shower. No sign of any really cold air into the first week of November. #miwx

Here's a satellite pic. (more clouds north of Kent Co. than south), radar (rain in Wisconsin is moving northeast toward the U.P.), Windmill Island (good fall color now) and the Holland Beach.
Current Air temperatures (warmer south, cooler north): Kalamazoo 67°, Grand Rapids 61° (feels warmer than that with sunshine and a light wind), Gaylord 49°, Copper Harbor (U.P.) 42°. With an offshore wind, it's just as warm at the lakeshore as inland. The Holland Beach is 62° and the Muskegon Beach is 61°.
Water Temperatures: Holland Channel 57°, Reeds Lake (inland) 62°. Waves at the Holland buoy are running 1.6 feet. #miwx
Good news here. With the strong El NIno, the water levels of Lake Powell and Lake Mead should have a significant rise this fall/winter.
💧 90 BILLION GALLONS OF WATER! That’s approximately how much water Lake Powell has gained with a 5-foot rise over the last few days!
One major October storm can make a HUGE difference. All that rain and runoff has given Lake Powell a significant boost, adding roughly 275,000 acre-feet of water.
But there’s another side to this story. The San Juan River is experiencing dangerous, potentially catastrophic flooding, with major impacts across southeastern Utah. That flooding is a serious threat to communities, roads and property.
At the same time, all that water moving through the San Juan River will continue flowing downstream toward Lake Powell, adding even more water to the reservoir as the runoff continues.
It’s a reminder of just how powerful these storms can be. We desperately need the water, but flooding like this comes with a devastating cost.
Lake Powell is still well below full pool, and we have a long way to go to recover from years of water shortages.
We’ll take every drop we can get, but first and foremost, we need everyone in the flooded areas to stay safe. 🙏

Here's a satellite pic. (a bit more cloudiness now than the last couple of days, but partly sunny in most areas), radar (a few scattered light showers in the U.P. and over near Flint (less than 1/10th inch of rain), Windmill Island (some nice fall color there) and the Holland Beach.
Air temperatures: Kalamazoo 67°, Grand Rapids 68°, Traverse City 70°, Newberry (U.P.) 48° and drizzle. At the lakeshore, the Holland Beach is 59°, so it is a bit cooler near Lake Michigan.
Water temperatures: Holland 57°, Holland buoy 58° Reeds Lake (inland) 61.
There is a chance of a shower (or even isolated t-shower ) late Tuesday or Wednesday and we'll have a chance of showers next weekend (Sat. night into Sun. - chance of rain during trick-or-treat time is about 40-50% at this time). If it rains, get out the Mary Poppins costume and you can carry an umbrella).

It may not be quite as sunny the next couple days, but it will stay warmer than average. The pic. is the South Haven Channel. There's currently a Tornado Watch (outlined in red on the map) and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch (outlined in blue on the map) for much of Arizona and western New Mexico. There's a Tornado Watch in effect for northern and central Arizona! Already, they had a 72 mph wind gust at the Flagstaff AZ Airport.
SPC says: "Strong vertical shear will support supercell thunderstorms capable of all severe hazards, including 2"+ diameter hail and tornadoes. The threat for severe weather will persist throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
The dewpoint at Yuma AZ is currently 70 degrees. It's very rare to see 70-degree dewpoints in the desert. #miwx #azwx #tornado #hail #severe
