i never thought i'd say this, but with all the focus on apps i think ct is actually starting to underrate infra rn
biggest innovations here:
> rise of scalable, programmable data (@irys_xyz, @WalrusProtocol)
> rise of scalable, cheap zk proofs (@boundlesshq, @SuccinctLabs, jolt by @a16zcrypto, etc)
> rise of verifying AI inferences (@eigencloud, @lagrangedev, @inference_labs)
> rise of scalable privacy protocols (@0xMiden, @aztecnetwork, @ethereum's MACI, @0xprivacypools, @ShutterNetwork, etc)
partly these have gotten less attention because focus has shifted (rightly so) to apps
but mainly i think it's because they're all focused on *data* as crypto's next frontier beyond financial transactions, and everyone is completely skeptical of this thesis after years of failure.
but what this misses is that the fundamental thesis—that all data will be onchain—wasn't really feasible until this infra came along to make data cheap, scalable, and private.
when you imagine how these protocols can interact, you can start to see how all data will be scalable and secure.
