Huh looks like I'm flying under the radar still, with my bio links. Who knows how long. I don't really have anything to lose, I'm mainly keeping this account so nobody else can grab it, on the off chance chief twat sells it and things receive somehow.

Also, I just sponsored Mastodon at the $500/month tier. Gotta keep those servers chugging.

Keystone pipeline received a special exemption from PHMSA allowing portions of the pipeline to operate at higher stress levels—outside of those allowable by regulations—including the portion through Kansas. The exemption should be revoked. We need stronger pipeline regulations.

Argh. I took a COVID test today as part of the protocol for the State Dept lunch with President Macron. I tested positive. I'm asymptomatic and feel totally fine. Downside: I will follow CDC rules and isolate. Upside: maybe now I can finally finish shingling the backyard shed.

Voting lines in some parts of Atlanta are *at least* three hours long today.
Well past 7pm closing there are still long lines of Fulton County voters waiting to check in to vote — if everyone stays in line some sites may not finish voting til after 10 pm

I want to engage this question earnestly, b/c it’s a legit question. The answer is yes, I do look at left, too. Left-wing activists are responsible for 2% of murders committed by political extremists in the US over the past decade; right-wing activists are responsible for 74%.
Have you studied the random violence on the other side as well, or do you only look to the right?

How to Out-Crazy your conservative family this Thanksgiving: 1. Misgender their children. 2. Open carry at the kids table. 3. Ban all pronouns. 4. Register your uncle for Andrew Tate’s Hustler University. Call him a beta-cuck if he doesn’t enroll.

If more guns and fewer gun laws made us safer, America would be the safest nation in the world. But 400,000,000 guns in the hands of civilians coupled with weak gun laws have given us a 25 times higher gun homicide rate than any peer nation. It’s the fucking guns.

I can't think of a race where the GOP flooded the zone with garbage polls more than WA Sen. The 538 average had Murray up 4.7 pts. She's going to win by close to 15.

I recently went to #rubyconfmini, and with vaccine, testing, and masking requirements, there have so far been 0 reported positive covid cases after the conference 😎

The current crypto price crash may have some positive environmental benefits as miners are forced out of business. Every $1,000 drop in the Bitcoin price will reduce power demand of the BTC network by roughly 0.75GW and save 10k metric tonnes of CO2 per day.
There’s a lot of bitcoin mining companies that are dead in the water at these prices/hash rate. We’ve got some carnage to churn through.

The implications of a Warnock victory for filling open executive branch posts as well as open judicial seats is very significant. About 1/3 of federal judicial districts do not have a Biden appointed US Attorney yet, including a big swath of the Deep South.
If Raphael Warnock wins the Georgia runoff and Democrats have 51 Senate seats, President Biden will have far more room to fill his government with his choices for executive branch positions.
