Hey @grok, Halloween is this week. What is the scariest true story ever recorded that sounds made up?
I compared what Y Combinator companies launch with what everyone else launches (last 28 days, 36,000 launches):
AI-native products:
YC: 85%
Hacker News: 37%
GitHub: 28%
Product Hunt: 27%
Look easy to build with an AI coding tool:
Product Hunt: 66%
GitHub: 50%
Hacker News: 50%
YC: 8%
YC companies are almost all AI, and almost none are a weekend project. Most of what hits Product Hunt could be built in one.
Hey @grok, which country would survive best if the rest of the world disappeared?
I looked at ~36,000 product launches from the last 4 weeks. 5 things that surprised me:
1. 61% look easy to build with an AI coding tool. Same share every week (61, 62, 60, 62).
2. Tuesday is launch day. 6,447 launches vs 3,909 on Sunday. Two thirds more.
3. Fastest riser: AI coding agent session managers. 36 launches a week became 59.
4. Cooling fast: virtual desktop pets and widgets. 33 launches in week 1, then 14, 20, 15.
5. Also slipping: desktop AI assistants (30 to 19 a week) and AI workspace platforms (37 to 27).
Hottest niches on Nicheloom right now (last 28 days, 68,000+ launches tracked):

2. MCP server developer tools: 30 launches, 5.8x attention, rising
3. AI agent observability platforms: 67 launches, 5.2x attention
4. macOS system utilities: 176 launches, 5.2x attention

"Attention" = share of Product Hunt launches getting 10+ upvotes vs the usual ~4.6%.

Everyone is building AI coding agents. Almost nobody is asking who manages them.
In the last 28 days, 188 tools launched to run, track and juggle multiple coding agent sessions.
Weekly launches: 33, 41, 59, 55.
And people notice them: 29% of the Product Hunt ones got 10+ upvotes. For all of Product Hunt it's about 4.6%. That's 6x the usual attention.
