Committed casual. Bengals. Draft. #Shadowteam

When we look back at the 2026 Bengals, I think the story starts here.
Instead of walking into the locker room with the team Joe Burrow heads through the back door that leads to the coaches office with HC Zac Taylor. Lou Anarumo follows behind them. #Bengals | @WLWT

DJ Turner is a worthy counterpart to Ja’Marr Chase on defense. Gave up a 6 yd slant and immediately tackled the WR. Gets up noticeably pissed up it wasn’t a PBU or interception.

Can he coach LBs or S?
Sources: Baylor has fired coach Dave Aranda.

🚨🚨trade related??
Bengals DE Shemar Stewart is a healthy scratch for today’s game against the Ravens. The 2025 first-round pick is still working his way back after missing all of training camp with a hyperextended knee.

Yesterday’s price is not today’s price. Both our outside CBs are getting more expensive….
🤯 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄: Bengals CB DJ Turner II has played more than 200 coverage snaps this season. He's allowed just NINETY-NINE receiving yards. That's the FEWEST yards allowed by ANY cornerback with 200+ coverage snaps, according to PFF.

Outside corner is not our problem. It was never our problem.

What if we combine the first-1.0s downhill distance on run plays (percentile) and bite distance (percentile) to see who reacts most to the run without over-biting on play action? Notable, I think, that Sonny Styles is fifth here.

Amarius Mims has allowed the lowest QB pressure rate (4.0%) among OT this season despite being left 1-on-1 at the 2nd-highest rate (87.6%) . Per @NextGenStats (minimum 100 pass pro snaps)

As @JoeGoodberry and I discussed on the podcast today, when Tyler Boyd left we thought there was some upside to getting Ja'Marr Chase into the slot and moving him around a bit more. In the last 2 years though, the offense has been much less productive. Long breakdown follows: Let's start with the pass game. All of these stats include only Joe Burrow games from 2025-2026. On 184 plays when Chase is in the slot: -0.14 EPA/Play 44% success rate 4.9 yards/play 5.5 yard average depth of target On 508 plays where Chase is wide: +0.18 EPA/play 50.4% success rate 5.7 yards/play 8.2 yard aDoT So that's a difference of +0.32 EPA/play, +6.4% success rate straight up. If we remove the disaster plays (turnovers) from both datasets the EPA/play difference shrinks a bit to +0.19. The run game splits are bigger! Small sample size caveat may apply as it's 183 run snaps with Chase wide and just 59 in the slot. When he's split wide, excluding disaster plays (turnovers) the run game is +.07 EPA/play better and has a 48.1% success rate vs. 39% when Chase is in the slot. And you can see in the heat maps how much less they're pushing the ball deep and how different the effectiveness is in the wide vs. slot (109 snaps, 2nd in each set of pictures) passing plays.

Feels so unlike the NFL to offer a blatant advantage to the Steelers
We are now at 0-5. Next team to face this brutal scheduling quirk: Cincinnati. • Bengals will play in Spain in Week 9 • Steelers have a bye in Week 9 • Bengals vs. Steelers in Week 10 #Panthers #Eagles xitter.cf/johnbreech/status/2110…

Do DB coaches ever coach their guys to tip passes up rather than down? Seems like it could have a meaningful impact on turnovers @RyanPaganetti

Can someone explain how that’s not interference?
