I literally never take painkillers etc and do just suffer through things but I’ve just never liked taking pills and had kidney issues brought about by NSAID’s however even i’m sometimes like, why am i like that lol
yes. they do just suffer. one time when we first moved to Germany my husband got a migraine at work and asked a coworker if they had an ibuprofen, which is a very common thing to do in the US if you need a painkiller. he might as well have asked them for heroin. she was appalled. she said “if you feel sick you should go home, lay down, and drink some tea”. he said “but i don’t want to do that. i am working on something.” “we have sick leave, unlike in America.” “yeah that’s great but i don’t want to go home and sit on the couch with a headache!! i want to not have a headache!!” he left work, got ibuprofen from the pharmacy, and went back to finish the day with no headache. it’s just a total culture clash. we fundamentally cannot understand each other here.
the business/venue that was taken from me and that i was bullied out of, all my work taken and not compensated, and then had to watch fail miserably as they literally did not know how to replace my skills has actually CLOSED. Crazy day, mixed feelings
