To do good creative work you have to be willing to abandon an idea, even after you've spent a ton of time going down the rabbit hole trying to make it work.
when you're scripting a video & say something like:
"let's just film both versions of this & decide in the edit"
it usually just means that both versions are bad and you're avoiding this realization.

My sister, who's a teacher in small town Canada, is getting ai pilled because muse is automating her facebook marketplace listings.
I used to work with musicians & artists, and treated capitalism with mild disdain.
My worldview completely shifted when I started working with founders and realized they were just another flavor of artists.
As someone who has directed documentaries with cinema gear, I can confirm the wifi issues were 100% caused by the crew’s wireless monitor system.
and a much bigger cultural bottleneck.
which is that the tech industry, generally, has not found a compelling answer to the question:
why is art important anyways?
I believe there are 2 major financial bottlenecks rn that limit sf from being a tier-1 cultural hub:
1. Stronger culture of elite-funded patronage through things like galleries, residencies, commissions, etc.
2. Cheap studio & living space that artists can actually afford
TIL you can be charged with criminal mischief.
What distinguishes the “founder as artist” from the "founder (corpo)" is their relationship to the unknown.
The corpo moves mechanically, and treats their company as a glorified optimization algorithm.
Wheras the artist dances with chaos & strives to bring order to it.
